The Hu Lyrics

We bow down for our betrayal
Tengri, don't let us fail
Don't let us fail

We bow down for our betrayal
Tengri, don't let us fail
Don't let us fail

We lost control so where do we go now
We sold our souls can we still turn around
We'd rather die for something
Than live for nothing
We're chosen by our fate
Don't divide and conquer
For pride and honor
Return to higher states

We bow down for our betrayal
Tengri, don't let us fail
Don't let us fail

We bow down for our betrayal
Tengri, don't let us fail

Tengri, don't let us fail
Tengri, don't let us fail

We bow down for our betrayal
Tengri, don't let us fail

Tengri, don't let us fail
Don't let us fail

Overall Meaning

The Hu’s song “Yuve Yuve Yu” is a powerful and moving tribute to the great Mongol ancestors with an underlying message to the current generation. The lyrics critique the current state of society and the Mongolian people's failure to live up to the expectations of their ancestors.

The song starts by questioning the current state of society, where people are more focused on eating and drinking and indulging in pleasures rather than honoring their ancestors. The lyrics “how strange how strange” express surprise at how the people have turned away from their ancestors’ teachings and ethics. The song then moves on to highlight the irony of people using the names of their ancestors in vain and yet failing to fulfill their obligations and responsibilities towards their own destiny. The song challenges those who have betrayed their ancestors' legacy to kneel down and be held accountable for their actions.

The second verse deals with the fact that many Mongolians blindly declare themselves to be the best but struggle to work together and unite as one. The lyrics highlight the difficulty in rising up as a nation and the question of why it’s so hard to cherish the inherited land of their ancestors. The song emphasizes the importance of cherishing the priceless edification of the elders and having the blessings of heaven for the future of eternal prosperity. The chorus then calls out to the ancestral spirit of Lord Chinggis, asking for his banner to be awakened and the Khanate to rise forever.

Overall, this song encourages listeners to look to the past and remember their ancestors' legacy, live up to their obligations, cherish their land, and work together as a people to gain prosperity and honor. It’s a call to action for Mongolians to awaken their ancestral spirit and take pride in their heritage.

@@shinegrl3452 According to official classification, ~5.2 million as various languages some consider dialects of Mongolian are not recognized officially as Mongolian language. The number is probably a bit larger than 5 million due to the fact that Chinese records are not really considered full, but 15 million is really stretching it as there are between 10 and 11 million ethnic Mongols in the whole world and a sizable chunk of them don't talk Mongolian. So the most probable high end number including an optimistic assumption about China, is around 7-8 million Mongolian language speakers world wide with realistic numbers as of now are probably around 6 million native speakers.

Now one could argue that those languages some consider dialects are really just that - dialects of Mongolian languages and that official classification is driven by political agenda(s) of bigger nations. That would not be a far stretch as there are many places in the world that things like that happen (like in the western Balkans for instance where there were 3 languages in 1980's but now, due to politics, there are 6) but let's not go down the political arguing line as someone is bound to get pissy.

Long story short, actual, clean Mongolian language speakers, around 6 million in the world today.

But that's besides the point in this argument - YouTube makes note of several views per IP so one person could make dozens of views count in, which means that a very small number of people could, theoretically, pump those views up. Playing a devil's advocate here.

But they did reach a world wide audience, no doubt, especially with this song that is very relatable to all Old World civilizations from Atlantic to Pacific ocean.

@@xinyiquan666 As for the number of ethnic Mongols, I am using official census numbers, what you are using, I have no idea. As for the number of speakers of Mongol language, official numbers plus some change in the case the number is politically deflated.

As a matter of fact, your "no" is actually stupid, you added up two regions with the most Mongols and called it a total.

In reality:
China is ~6.2M
Mongolia ~3.2M

And that's already your ~9.5M

But you call 800.000 in Russia "not significant at all" and forget to add up scattered Mongols around the globe that add up to ~100.000 more.

Hence my statement of between 10 and 11 million Mongols on this planet.

So you stop counting where you'd like, just so you could say "No" and try playing smartypants. Because, it is important and popular to say NO these days.

And even if we neglect the fact that you took just two regions and called it total, you realize that your number would be ~0.5M under what I stated and falls under the "around X number" statistical classification? So the whole "no" idiocy has no point, even if the number was as you stated it as it is essentially what I said.

Dear lord, there seems to be an epidemics of stupidity these days.
