The Plot in You have released one EP and four studio albums. Their EP Wife Beater was released in 2010, followed by their debut studio album First Born in 2011, and second studio album Could You Watch Your Children Burn in 2013. On July 17, 2015, the band announced their signing with StaySick Recordings and Happiness in Self Destruction was released on October 16, 2015. On June 15, 2017, they parted ways with StaySick Recordings and signed to Fearless Records while also announced their fourth studio album Dispose, which was released on February 16, 2018. Their fifth studio album, Swan Song, was released on September 17, 2021.
The Plot In You continue to move forward on their fifth full-length album and second for Fearless
Records, Swan Song. The Ohio quartet— Landon Tewers [vocals], Josh Childress [guitar], Ethan Yoder
[bass], and Michael Cooper [drums]—stare down years of negativity, soured friendships,
disappointment, and mistakes and flush it all away in the wake of hammering distortion, towering
melodies, cinematic production, and unapologetically cathartic lyrics. Ascending to the apex of an eight-
year grind, the band reached critical mass on 2018’s DISPOSE. The standout “FEEL NOTHING” exploded
with 28 million US streams, while the project eclipsed 55 million US streams. Billboard raved, “DISPOSE
is the band’s most polished and cohesive work to date,” and Alternative Press noted, “DISPOSE makes it
clear that TPIY challenge both the listeners and themselves more and more with each release.” Grading
the album “9.0-out-of-10,” Rock Sound predicted it “should finally – and deservedly – make The Plot In
You a name that everyone knows.” They supported the record by hitting the road with Underoath, The
Amity Affliction, Like Moths To Flames, Sum 41, and more. After racking up over 100 million streams and
receiving praise from Billboard, Rock Sound, Alternative Press, and more, the group wave off darkness
with unassuming confidence and clarity on Swan Song ignited by the single “Face Me.”

The Plot in You Lyrics

There's demons screaming in my ears
"you should be proud of what you've accomplished in years of your absence,
your time alone has paid off it's paid right off"
You should not be here right now, it's 3am and they're asleep
Yes they're still sleeping
Just tie her up they'll never hear her
Just Hurry up, I promise you it will be worth it
You will never be a man just hiding in your bedroom
You will never
The time is coming for you to decide, which will it be man? Which will it be?
You might just ruin her she may never be the same
You'll never sleep again
You will never be that man again, what's done is done
The lyrics of The Plot in You's song Clots is an introspective look at the psyche of a person who has been absent for years and has now returned to the scene. The song talks about cleaning and the presence of blood, which lends a dark and mysterious tone to the lyrics. The blood where it should never be signifies that things have gone wrong, and there is a significant amount of cleaning up to be done. The demons are screaming in the persona's ears, and they are proud of what the person has accomplished in their years of absence, which could allude to the fact that their time away was spent working towards some goal, but at what cost?
The song then shifts to a more sinister tone, where a person is being tied up, and the listeners are instructed to hurry up because it will be worth it. The persona is instructed to stuff their sorrows in a sack and to never hide in their bedroom. The listeners are then given a choice to decide which they want to be. The decision is then made clear that they might just ruin her, and she may never be the same, and they will never sleep again because of the guilt that they carry with them. The song ends with the realization that the person will never be that man again, and what's done is done.
In conclusion, The Plot in You's song Clots is a haunting and introspective look into the psyche of a person who has been absent for years and has now returned to the scene. The presence of blood and the demons screaming in the persona's ears create a dark and mysterious tone that pulls the listener in, and the choice presented at the end leaves the listener wondering about the consequences of their actions.

I think it's awesome that they recorded these songs with a dell laptop, with no real expensive equipment at all and still got an amazing sound.
