They adopted their name in 1962 while performing together around Los Angeles, USA as part of a five-member group called The Paramours, which featured John Wimber (who was much later one of the founders of the Vineyard Movement) on keyboards.
Hatfield and Medley both possessed exceptional vocal talent, with range, control, and tone that helped them create a strong and distinct duet sound (and perform as soloists). Medley sang the low parts with his deep, soulful baritone, with Hatfield taking the higher register vocals with his soaring tenor. They gained their name when an African-American Marine shouted out "That was righteous, brothers" at the end of a show. John Wimber, one of the founding leaders of the Vineyard Movement, played the keyboard in the band.
Their first major hit single was "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" in 1965. Produced by Phil Spector, the record is often cited as one of the peak expressions of Spector's Wall of Sound production techniques. It was one of the most successful pop singles of its time, despite exceeding the standard length for radio play. Indeed, "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" remains the most played song in radio history, estimated to have been broadcast over 8 million times to date. A little known fact about this song was that Spector utilized Sonny and Cher as back-up singers.
They had several other Spector-produced hit singles during the 1960s, including "Ebb Tide" and "Unchained Melody" in 1965 and "(You're My) Soul and Inspiration" in 1966.
Soul and Inspiration was produced by Bill Medley for Verve Records. Phil Spector was not involved with this recording in any way, shape or form. Also, although it is credited to Phil Spector, Bill Medley produced "Unchained Melody". Medley produced the B-Side for the singles and Spector handled the production work on the A-Side. The A-Side for "Unchained Melody" was the single "Hung on You" produced by Phil Spector although it was the B-Side that ended up being the hit.
Try To Find Another Man
The Righteous Brothers Lyrics

I think you better try to find another woman
Try, try to find one who loves you
And live with you the best you can
Don't start none of that grieving
This time she's leaving
She's packin' up her suitcase
When she first met you
You were her everything
You meant so much to her
She just had to be your loving bride
But in five years, you've changed
Now you never do nothin'
All you ever do is sit around the TV set, feed your fat face with slop
And make the woman's life a complete misery
I think you better
I think you better try to find another woman
Try, try to find one who loves you
And live with you the best you can
Don't start none of that grieving
'Cause this time she's leaving
She's packin' up her suitcase
Try to find another woman
From the early hours of the morning
Till the late hours at night
You keep on braggin' on your lady
And tell them folks, she done nothin' right till date
Oh, can't stand it no more
She's got fed up with everything about you
So take a friend's advice, go on with your life
And try to find another woman
I think you better
I think you better try to find another woman
Try, try to find one who loves you, yeah
And live with you the best you can
Don't start none of that grieving
'Cause this time she's leaving
She's packin' up her suitcase
Try to find another woman
I think you better
I think you better try to find another woman
Try to find one who loves you
And live with you the best you can
Don't start none of that grieving
'Cause this time she's leaving
Packin' up her suitcase
Try to find another woman
The song 'Try to Find Another Woman,' by The Righteous Brothers, is a classic break-up song, where the singer is warning the man in the relationship to try and find another woman before it's too late. The song is set in a time where marriage was considered a lifetime commitment, and divorce was frowned upon. The lyrics urge the man to take a friend's advice, pack up his life and try to find someone else who loves him, as his current partner has decided it's time for her to leave.
The lyrics of the song are very direct, and they repeat the same message multiple times, emphasizing that the woman has had enough, and the man cannot continue being lazy and inconsiderate. The lyrics describe the man as someone who was once everything to the woman, but after five years of marriage, he has become someone who does nothing but sit in front of the TV and eat junk food. The woman is tired of it, and she is not willing to continue living in misery.
The song is an interesting take on the traditional break-up song. Instead of focusing on the heartbreak and sadness that comes with a break-up, the song focuses on the practical advice that the man needs to hear. It sheds light on the fact that sometimes it's better to accept that a relationship is not working and move on.
