This is not Roscoe Robinson singing here. The gentleman's name is Albert "Bill" Sumbry. This song was written by Otis Sibley. Robinson was nowhere near the session. Robinson did indeed put together another "version" of the Silver(tone) Quintette a year after this session and another version of this song was recorded in the studio, again with Bill Sumbry on lead. Robinson told me in 2006 he couldn't remember if he sang harmony on the session or not. Still a monster tune.

Well, I had a discussion earlier with witoldG about his comment on this one where he suggests it's Albert "Bill" Sumbry on lead here. But I still believe the known historians Hayes and Laughton who wrote the massive Gospel Records 1943-1969 Discography are right on Roscoe. One can clearly hear that it isn't Archie Brownlee for sure. Thanks for listening and comments!

you right Mr. Nutt, this is definitely not Roscoe's voice. Roscoe's sung at my daddy's homegoing. I.ve only been listening to him all my life. MsBirmingham.

Thanks man.I know Roscoe's family I don't. Like when Gospel Singer go out and sing RB and other stuff I was to afraid so I didn't. Claude pop jeter was my Godfather. And RH. HARRIS WAS my my good friend,RC Crenshaw &Henry Bossard isn't God uncle's.I was a member of the mighty Gospel bellaire of Inwood NY.
