All parts of the album Tiger and the Duke were recorded individually and each member was only able to hear the part they contributed to the album. The only member who heard the whole album during its recording process was Balling. The group released their next album Lover, the Lord Has Left Us... on May 30th, 2006.
Keith Goodwin was announced as one of the vocalists for the next album, taking on the pseudonym of 'The Penguin'.
The Sound of Animals Fighting have only performed live four times, all of which were released on a DVD, entitled "We Must Become The Change We Want To See". Three of their four shows took place in California (Anaheim, L.A., and San Diego), USA, and one in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
With the release of The Ocean And The Sun, the band issued a series of 400 masks, 100 of each of 4 designs, paired with a 7" for a limited preorder of the album. This was the first and only vinyl release and novelty item sold by the band.
In 2022 the band would be revived with a similar line-up as before, and would release the 4 track EP "APESHIT" (their first musical content in 14 years) to promote their 13 date tour across the US in January of 2023.

But nothing is ever what it used to be
Grab the rope, hoist yourself up
With a copy in head
Comforted by lions of substance
A solutive parade
Grab the rope, hoist yourself up
And drift like ants in hose water
These three angels used to be attorneys
It is such a serious thing to me
Oh how I search through the memories
It is such an experience for me
Silence creating bold letters like "not" and "better"
These three devils used to be apologies
These three angels used to be monuments
I try to find that feeling from that letter from my consistencies
Is such a painful thing to see when the shadows didn't bend
Like now and then
These three devils used to be apostrophes
So I destroyed a monument, so what
I know you don't want change
But nothing is ever what it used to be
Grab the rope, hoist yourself up
With a copy in head
Comforted by lions of substance
A solutive parade
Grab the rope, hoist yourself up
And drift like ants in hose water
The Sound of Animals Fighting's song St. Broadrick Is in Antarctica features enigmatic lyrics that convey a sense of change and transformation. The song begins with the notion that change is inevitable and that despite the reluctance to embrace it, one must move forward. The line "I know you don't want change, but nothing is ever what it used to be" captures this idea. The singer urges the listener to "grab the rope," an image that suggests that the listener must take control and pull themselves up in the face of change.
The song then moves into a series of images that juxtapose angels and devils, attorneys and apologies, monuments and apostrophes. These images suggest that things are not always what they seem, and that perceptions can be deceiving. The line "Silence creating bold letters like 'not' and 'better'" emphasizes the idea that what is left unsaid or unspoken can be as powerful as what is. The idea of memory is also evoked in the line "Oh how I search through the memories/It is such an experience for me." The singer seems to be searching for something that is lost or forgotten, but the meaning of this search is elusive.
Overall, the song's lyrics are open to interpretation and leave much to the listener's imagination. The images and language used are rich and evocative, but their meaning is not always clear.
