Thompson Lyrics

mala grkinja
varala me, varala
srce slomila
Grkinjo znaj
svemu je kraj
zbogom i vise
Grkinjo znaj
svemu je kraj
zbogom i vise
se ne vracaj
Varala me, varala
mala grkinja
varala me, varala
dusu ranila
Grkinjo znaj
svemu je kraj
zbogom i vise
se ne vracaj
Grkinjo znaj
svemu je kraj
zbogom i vise
se ne vracaj
Varala me, varala
mala grkinja
varala me, varala
sve mi uzela
Grkinjo znaj
svemu je kraj
zbogom i vise
se ne vracaj
The lyrics of Thompson's song Grkinja are about a man who was betrayed by a Greek girl. The song starts with the refrain "Varala me, varala mala grkinja" which means "She deceived me, deceived me little Greek girl" in English. He then repeats "srce slomila" which translates to "She broke my heart". The chorus of the song is "Grkinjo znaj, svemu je kraj, zbogom i više se ne vraćaj" which means "Greek girl, know that everything is over, goodbye and don't come back anymore". The man is clearly hurt and angry, and he wants the girl to know that there is no coming back from what she has done to him.
The second verse repeats the same refrain and adds "dusu ranila" which means "She wounded my soul". The chorus is then repeated. In the third verse, the man says that the girl took everything from him, repeating the same refrain once again. The song ends with the chorus being repeated three times.
Thompson's song Grkinja is a powerful and emotional song that speaks to how betrayal can leave a person feeling broken and hurt. The use of the Greek girl as a symbol adds an interesting layer to the song's meaning, as it suggests how cultural differences can sometimes lead to misunderstandings and conflict in relationships.
