Omega
Traverser Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I watch the pages drain our eyes
We move indifferent to the time
It's you
In the end how can I release this
Relive it
I'm breathing out
We knew this
We prove our confidence
Away I'd rather sleep a while
We move indifferent to the time
It's you
I was the last to know
You were the last to come home
We moved along
The lyrics to Traverser's song Omega seem to speak about the inevitability of time and how it shapes our lives. The opening line of "take this with confidence" suggests that the singer is accepting something that they have little control over. They are observing how time seems to pass quickly, as if pages are being drained from their eyes. They also state that they are moving indifferent to the time, which could be interpreted as either resignation or acceptance of the passage of time.
The chorus seems to be directed towards someone specific, possibly a partner or loved one - "It's you". The singer asks how they can release something that has a hold on them, and relive it. This could be interpreted as a reference to past experiences, memories or even regrets. The lyrics "All I am, the truth I can't defend, I'm breathing out", seem to suggest that the singer is coming to terms with a truth about themselves that they cannot escape.
The third verse seems to be a continuation of this theme. The singer states that "we knew this", perhaps referring to the inevitability of time, and that "we prove our confidence", which could be interpreted as acceptance of their place in the world. There is also a sense of weariness and desire for rest, as the singer says they'd rather sleep a while. The last two lines of the song - "I was the last to know, you were the last to come home, we moved along" seem to suggest a separation or division between the singer and the person they are addressing.
