Certitude... solitude...
Trust Lyrics

In "Certitude...solitude...", Trust explores the theme of isolation, reflecting on the personal journey of the singer towards self-discovery and the search for meaning in a world that seems to be driven by illusions and superficiality. The lyrics express a sense of detachment and disorientation, as the singer realizes that the pursuit of fame and success can ultimately lead to a sense of emptiness and disillusionment. (For you know with certainty what solitude is, too proud of this yellowed image that pursues you, and leaves me a little lost, what have you become?), highlights the irony of the human condition, where the very things that we strive for can end up causing us the most pain and isolation.
The verses contrast the journey of the singer with that of someone who is successful and self-assured, "Tu marchais, t'avançais, t'avançais en sachant que t'étais le pouvoir" (You walked, you advanced, you advanced knowing that you were the power). However, the singer questions whether fame and glory are worth the sacrifice of one's identity and authenticity, "Et si demain je devenais un héros mais sans fard, et si demain tu devenais un symbole, pas sexuel" (And if tomorrow I became a hero but without makeup, and if tomorrow you became a symbol, not sexual). Ultimately, the song suggests that finding oneself and accepting one's place in the world is more important than external validation and recognition.
