Into The Mystic
Van Morrison Lyrics
We were born before the wind
Also younger than the sun
Ere the bonnie boat was won
As we sailed into the mystic
Hark, now hear the sailors cry
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic
And when that foghorn blows
And when the foghorn blows
I wanna hear it
I don't have to fear it
And I wanna rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
And magnificently we will float into the mystic
When that foghorn blows
You know I will be coming home
And when that foghorn whistle blows
I gotta hear it
I don't have to fear it
And I wanna rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
And together we will float into the mystic
Come on, girl
Too late to stop now

"Into The Mystic"

Hark, now hear the sailors cry
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic
And when that fog horn blows I will be coming home
And when that fog horn blows I want to hear it
I don’t have to fear it
I want to rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
Then magnificently we will float into the mystic
And when that fog horn blows you know I will be coming home
And when that fog horn whistle blows I got to hear it
I don’t have to fear it
I want to rock your gypsy soul
Just like way back in the days of old
And together we will float into the mystic
Come on girl

My wife Peggy, who passed a year ago this coming Monday, and I loved listening to this song. Makes me cry every time I hear it, but it's still helps me calm my soul...just a bit.

If you don't feel something, any kind of deep emotion when listening to this song, you had better check your pulse. This is a beautiful, melancholy masterpiece...

This makes me so sad because when I was an infant my parents would play this song and I would immediately fall asleep and last year I randomly found it again and remember it from when I was a kid
