Revolution
Varios A.U. Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You're livin' on the streets
Lost your job to a robot
And you gave up to drink'
Talking and babbling
Are two different things
The hell you gonna lose anyway
Whose side are you really on?
A closet suits as bad as a cop
Who moonlights as punk
Revolution weekend
Weekend revolution, now my friend
Storm the U.S. embassy
Ship the suits to the army
Drag your leader through the street
They're killing us anyways
Fuck your revolution!
The lyrics to Varios A.U.'s song Revolution are a critical commentary on the state of society, particularly in the United States. The song is clearly about a dystopian future where automation has taken over jobs, leading to a significant increase in poverty and homelessness. The opening lines, "it's automatic, it's automatic, you're living on the streets" suggest that the environment is entirely out of the control of the individual, and people are forced to live in these conditions.
Moreover, the lyrics point out that people have given up hope and turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism. The following lines "lost your job to a robot, and you gave up to drink" paints a grim picture of the future where the working-class people are left to suffer, and no one cares. However, the song calls for people to take action and stand up for their rights, seemingly referencing the potential for a political revolution. The lyrics "take back the U.S.A, whose side are you really on?" urge people to question their beliefs and join forces in the fight for justice.
The song's chorus "Revolution weekend, weekend revolution, now my friend" reinforces the call for action and implies that it's time to act on our words. The song's closing lines, "fuck your revolution" seem to take a cynical stance on the idea of a revolution, as if to say that even though we may try to bring change, the system is set up to destroy us nonetheless. Overall, the lyrics to Varios A.U.'s song Revolution are a harsh critique of society and encourage people to take action while recognizing that change may be challenging to achieve.

For all rock lovers :)
I hear, see the video here for the x xx times now... but I watch it again and again, and again and again. Since this video I have the Foo fighters album.
In the car, on the PC, cell phone...
This video is an expression of love for rock. It always moves me to tears when I see how much emotion, work and togetherness was put into this to experience this.
When I drive home dead tired from work in the evening, the sun may be shining, I roll down the windows, let this kind of Foo Rock rock, feel the warm sun on my skin, inner contentment, and for 7 minutes the world is in harmony.
In the evening After flying, or sometimes during it, unpack rock music, enjoy the flight or the evening afterwards, campfire with something to eat and beer, that's why we're here :)
