Often abbreviated to "Vsnares" – Funk's distinctive style reflects unconventional time signatures and extremely rapid and erratic rhythms. Unpredictable and stimulating, the effect is intense.
Funk's first release was "Greg Hates Car Culture", an EP for the History Of The Future Label, followed by "Salt" for Zhark and "Fuck Canada // Fuck America" with Stunt Rock for CLFST. When Mike Paradinas heard "Greg Hates Car Culture", he immediately signed Funk for Planet µ. Prior to this, he self-released material on cassette tape as early as 1992.
The first Venetian Snares LP on Planet µ "Making Orange Things" (a co-production with Speedranch), dropped in early 2001; following in short order were 5 more releases, all released before the end of 2002. Funk continued recording for a variety of labels, including Hymen, Addict, and Sublight Records, and has also recorded as snares, Snares Man!, BeeSnares, Ventriloquist Snakes, Puff, Last Step and Senetian Vnares.
She
Venetian Snares Lyrics

Machine gun in her hand
She is good and she is bad
No one understands
She walked in in silence
Never spoke a word
She got a rich daddy
She's her daddy's girl
She loves naked sin
He loves evil sex
She has lost control
They are growing old
She will hide in silence
Then her day will come
She was virgin vixen
She is on the run x 3
This song by Venetian Snares titled "She" portrays a woman who is simultaneously good and bad, and yet no one is able to understand her. As she enters with empty arms and a machine gun in her hand, it suggests that she is independent and doesn't need anyone to protect her. The woman mentioned in the song is both a virgin and a vixen, a combination that is perplexing to many. It appears that she has lost control of her life and is growing old as time passes by.
However, she is not one to be underestimated as she will hide in silence until the day she decides to come out and make her mark. The lyrics portray her as someone who is unpredictable and dangerous, and yet, at the same time, she is viewed as a powerful woman who is her daddy's girl. One possible interpretation of the song could be that it represents the duality of feminine power and its impact on society. The woman in the song embodies both the beauty of innocence and the seductive nature of sin.
