The Wednesday Night Heroes started as a high school band, with Luke "the Manimal" Mackinnon on bass and Todd Rocket on the drums. Soon after looking for a vocalist, Luke decided to enlist his brother, Graeme on vocals. Lance "the Impaler" later joined on guitar. The group released two seven inches: first a split with another Canadian punk band The Cleats and No Regrets For Youth both out on Longshot records.
Soon before the bands sophmore debut, Superioty Complex Lance quit the band and Konrad Andrelunas stepped in on guitar. After endless months of touring Todd Rocket soon quit and Jay "Bomber" from the Mad Bomber Society took over on drums.
After two years of endless non-stop touring all over North America they caught the eye of Jake from The Casualties. Upon seeing them live, he took them on tour with his band and quickly signed them to his record company, Charged Records and released their 7" Move To Press in 2005.
In March of 2006 the WNH also caught the eye of the Stern brothers from, Youth Brigade and in late 2006 was signed to their label, BYO records. In June 2007 their third full length LP entitled, Guilty Pleasures will be released on BYO.
The Wednesday Night Heroes are most well known for their highly energetic live shows and humour. This can also be seen in Konrad's and Graeme's side project, Whiz Kidz.

When I walk downtown, everything's so stale
I've got a job, yet you tream me like a bum
Everywhere I go, I'm a walking disaster
I'm bulletproof...your words, they don't go though
Whatcha gonna do...when I turn around & spit on you
Spit on you like some uncivilized bastard
We are uncivilized bastards!
We are the uncivilized bastards
They call us scum, but they are the ones to blame
To certain cops we're not treated the same
When I walk by cops, I watch my back
Cause they can't be trusted, no not by me.
I'm bulletproof...your badge don't mean shit
Whatcha gonna do...when I totally disregard you
& flip you off like an uncivilized bastard
Stand up & have a say
We won't be treated this way
Our voice is getting stronger
& the nights get longer
Fucked up when sirens pass
You say we've got no class
Monday morning we'll start all over
While Friday night we're uncivilized bastards
We are...
The lyrics of Wednesday Night Heroes' song "Uncivilized Bastards" convey themes of frustration, rebellion, and being marginalized by society. The singer of the song has worked hard and paid their dues, but still feels undervalued and disrespected by those around them. Everywhere they go, they feel like a walking disaster, as if nothing they do will ever be enough to win the approval of the people around them. The lyrics describe a sense of disillusionment with authority figures like cops, who the singer feels cannot be trusted, and a sense of alienation from mainstream society.
Throughout the song, the singer positions themselves as tough and resilient, unafraid to stand up for themselves and spit in the face of those who would demean them. They describe themselves as bulletproof, impervious to the insults and disrespect being hurled their way. The repeated refrain of "We are the uncivilized bastards" serves as both a rallying cry for those who feel marginalized and an assertion of defiance against the powers that be.
The song highlights the tension between conformity and rebellion, and speaks to the anger and frustration that can bubble up in those who feel left behind by society. It's a powerful anthem for anyone who has felt unseen or unheard, and a call to stand up and speak out against injustice.
