Winner (Korean: 위너; stylized as WINNER) is a five-member South Korea male group formed in 2013 by YG Entertainment Inc. The group's five members are Kang Seung-yoon (강승윤), Song Minho (송미노), Nam Taehyun (남태현), Kim Jinwoo (김진우), and Lee Seunghoon (이승훈).
The group was first introduced in the reality-survival program called Who is Next: WIN as "Team A." Team A and their adversaries Team B were both formed from trainees within YG Entertainment. The teams competed against each other in order to debut as the first YG boy group in eight years, following on the strong legacy of YG's previously debuted male group Big Bang. As a result of Team A's win on the "YG's WIN: WHO IS NEXT" finale on October 25, the title of "WINNER" was given to Team A after they won all three rounds of public voting.
After several delays, the group made their official Korean debut on August 15, 2014 at YG Family Concert, followed by their broadcast debut on August 17 with their first official stage on Inkigayo. The group made their Japanese debut on September 10 of that same year.

Theory (after years lol)
We saw the mv was full with 3 colors: white(purity, innocence, new beginning), red(sign of sins) and black(sins and regrets)
Seungyoon - killed his lover (jealousy probably for some reason)
he and his lover were taking pics. they were in white which shows the purity happiness innocence in their life. Yoon was capturing all the happy moments with his lover, but the camera lens was red(sign of sins) that showed hand prints on her neck. this clearly shows he choked her to death. when he was wearing white he still didn't realise his mistakes. at some point we see girls in white surrounding his. this symbolises his death. he probably killed himself when he realised his mistakes. idk what to explain more on this
Seunghoon - Accident of his lover
since start we cld see he was in black which shows that he always knew his mistakes and was regretful for his lover's death as shown in the mv he got into an accident probably with his lover. he wasn't careful enough which lead them to the accident where his lover died but he didn't. him throwing his helmet and it lighting up fire shows how the explosion caused by the accident and his lover burned to death. we also see him being surrounded by ppl in white just like Yoon which symbolise he is dead too. he probably took his own life bcuz of the guilt for causing his lover's death and loneliness.
Jinwoo - his lover/fiancée was killed or something
in the mv we see a white dress burning, a wedding dress probably. his fiancée was killed on their wedding day i guess, so he went on a search for the killer. we see him checking CCTV footage to find clues. later we see the killer's face who burned the dress/ his fiancée, which was actually himself. he killed his own fiancée but doesn't remember anything so he thot of finding the killer. he was wearing red in his first scene in the mv which shows the signs of sins. in the middle of the mv he was wearing white which means he didn't know he was the murderer all along bcuz he lost his memories. he was probably a psycho and burned his fiancée on the wedding day then forgot what happened. after knowing he was the killer he realises his mistakes.
mino - His words were hurtful which might be the cause of his wife/lover's death or maybe she's alive and just hurt. (idk)
in the mv he was a painter i guess and didn't gave much time to his wife and just painted all the time. his wife ruined his painting once thinking he wld spend time but instead it made him angry and he ended up saying things that hurt more than anything cld and caused her to leave him. now we see a girl in a mask holding a painting. the painting shows a black face with red paint which means "face your own sins" i guess. and the girl follows him everywhere but he doesn't face her(his mistakes) and just ran away. we also see the girl ruining his painting on the wall with black spray which symbolise his regrets and sins he made when his wife ruined his painting once. he doesn't admit his mistakes and blames his wife for making him bad. but then he later decides to face the girl and tears the painting to see a mirror which reflects himself which symbolize his all the sins he made and to make him reflect on his mistakes.

I don't think Winner is a underrated group especially now, they are loved by the general public yet inner circle is not big of a fandom. People tend to think they are underrated just because they are not a mainstream boygroup like Bts, Exo or Got7 and the fact that they are from YG. Plus not many can appreciate this kind of music, it's beautiful but some Kpop fans rather stick to trendy concept. Winner is not a typical kpop boygroup for me they are just different. They sell their own music and own style rather than selling a certain concept that everybody expects from them. From what i see Winner values their music more than popularity.

Ermit Song this is why I keep saying WINNER shouldn't be an "idol group" because they don't fit that. they're better than what typical kpop is because tbh, not trying to shit on other kpop groups (cause I love other groups to) but WINNER is above it. they're music in terms of quality is world class. this song in particular is beautiful. they're poets and artists. this is the kind of music rarely found in kpop and it's great. I keep saying to my friends that WINNER should just sign with universal music or Warner music or something. They make greatness and deserve to be seen as such by more people.

i agree completely! winner is neither indie nor mainstream. they've got a unique sound to them and although it might not attract the most fans (plenty already and plenty more to come tho, it seems), i love that they won't compromise with their musical vision. takes guts to do that when a lot of today's groups are just going with public-friendly generic bops.
