Winner (Korean: 위너; stylized as WINNER) is a five-member South Korea male group formed in 2013 by YG Entertainment Inc. The group's five members are Kang Seung-yoon (강승윤), Song Minho (송미노), Nam Taehyun (남태현), Kim Jinwoo (김진우), and Lee Seunghoon (이승훈).
The group was first introduced in the reality-survival program called Who is Next: WIN as "Team A." Team A and their adversaries Team B were both formed from trainees within YG Entertainment. The teams competed against each other in order to debut as the first YG boy group in eight years, following on the strong legacy of YG's previously debuted male group Big Bang. As a result of Team A's win on the "YG's WIN: WHO IS NEXT" finale on October 25, the title of "WINNER" was given to Team A after they won all three rounds of public voting.
After several delays, the group made their official Korean debut on August 15, 2014 at YG Family Concert, followed by their broadcast debut on August 17 with their first official stage on Inkigayo. The group made their Japanese debut on September 10 of that same year.

“We made a movie called youth, the title is WINNER.” i can still remember how badly i cried when i heard yoon said this in the concert.
honestly i can’t imagine my youth without these four adorable dorks. sometimes i wonder how it would have been, i guess it would be empty. it is amazing how these people have so much impact on our lives. they were supposed to be just some strangers, but they have become such an inseparable part of us.
i remember how i was literally shaking when i high-fived them, how i was screaming their names as if my life depended on it, how depressed i was after their concerts. i can recall so many memories with them, we have been through so much, and i am so incredibly grateful.
loving them is difficult, having to get through the hiatus, the mistreatment they receive, the hate people throw at them - but guess what, here we are now, looking back, prouder than ever.
5 years, it sounds long doesn’t it? but it seems like nothing when we compare it with the years they have trained for. they trained in uncertainty, without knowing whether they will get to debut or not; but now we are waiting confidently knowing the four of them are going to keep their promise, they will be coming back to us.
we will manage, we have their music with us, their variety shows, we can rewatch WINNER TV, we can always wait.
thank you for being my youth. now that chapter 1 is over, let’s just be a little more patient and anticipate the years coming.
