Feelings
Wolfmother Lyrics

And wonder what does it means
Is it all an illusion
All the while it makes me smile
Put it in another file
Is it all an evolution
I would really like to know
(Repeat)
Another day another girl, looking to unrule the world
Looking for a solution
All the while it makes me smile
Put it in another file
Is it all an evolution
Would you like to go and entertain these feelings
I would really like to know
(Repeat)
Feelings that make me sad
Feelings that make me feel so glad
Feelings that make me think
Of the best time I ever had
Yeah 1, 2, 3, 4
Would you like to go and entertain these feelings
I would really like to know
Feelings
(Repeat)
The lyrics to Wolfmother's song Feelings explore the idea of questioning the illusions and evolutions of the world around us. The singer sits and watches TV, questioning the meaning behind it all. However, despite this existential puzzling, the music ultimately brings him joy, and he files it away as an evolution of the world. The lyrics then turn to a girl, who is also looking to find her place in the world and unrule it. Again, the music brings joy and solace. The final verses explore the different emotions that music can evoke, both sad and glad, and how it can bring us back to memories of the past.
The use of the word 'evolution' in the song is intriguing, as it could refer to the idea of societal evolution or even musical evolution. This is reinforced by the use of the word 'file', which suggests a systematic categorisation of the world's changes. The repetition of the question "would you like to go and entertain these feelings" throughout the song could be seen as a challenge to the listener, encouraging them to open themselves up to the different emotions that music can evoke.
Overall, Feelings is a song that delves into the philosophy of the world around us, while simultaneously celebrating the power of music to bring us joy and comfort.
