Çabuk soluyormuş, ah
Ben seni gül sanmadım ki
Neden acıyor eyvah kalbim?
Sen gittiğinden beri, ah sen
Geri geri aldım saatleri
Ben seni seni, vo bırakmam diye
Sen gittiğinden beri, ah sen
Geri geri aldım saatleri
Ben seni seni, vo bırakmam diye
Gel, deli gibi bozdum sen gideli
Gül, gülünce aşkım aşkım
Akıl düşüyor güle
Bak, sana ben güller aldım
Ama soluyor nafile, ah
Sen gittiğinden beri, ah sen
Geri geri aldım saatleri
Ben seni seni, vo bırakmam diye
Gel, deli gibi bozdum sen gideli
Sen gittiğinden beri, ah sen
Geri geri aldım saatleri
Ben seni seni, vo bırakmam diye
Gel, deli gibi bozdum sen gideli
Öyle bir saat tuttum ki içimden
Ne kadar gel desen de
O kadar daha var ama
Öyle akıl almaz geçmişti ki günler
Böyle akıllanmaz
Her gün birini sever, birine gider
Gelmezsen eğer, ah
Sen gittiğinden beri, ah sen
Geri geri aldım saatleri
Ben seni seni, vo bırakmam diye
Gel, deli gibi bozdum sen gideli
Sen gittiğinden beri, ah sen
Geri geri aldım saatleri
Ben seni seni, vo bırakmam diye
Gel, deli gibi bozdum sen gideli
Ah sen
The song Ah Sen by Yaşar, begins by describing how the singer realized that a rose (gül) wilts quickly when it is loved, just like how his heart is hurting since the person he loved has left him. He reflects on how he never thought he saw her as a rose and wonders why his heart is hurting so much. The chorus repeatedly states that since she left, he has been backwardly taking back the hours, meaning he wants her to come back and time to reverse. He then asks her to come back because he will not leave her again and because he has been driven crazy since she left. He compares his love to a rose, which he has bought her, but it is wilting and dying since she has left.
In the second verse, he refers to the time he spent waiting for her and how it seems to last an eternity since she is not there. He thinks he is going insane since he cannot get her out of his head, and he reminisces about how he used to love another person every day before she came into his life, but now he cannot think of anyone else. He says that if she does not come back, his heart will not heal.
The song has common themes with many other Turkish love songs where the singer reminisces about their love, how it was so pure and how it has ended. It speaks of how the singer cannot let his love go and wants time to reverse so that he can hold his love again.

Gül sevince anladım ki
When the rose blooms, I realized it fades quickly
Çabuk soluyormuş, ah
It fades quickly, alas
Ben seni gül sanmadım ki
I didn't mistake you for a rose
Neden acıyor eyvah kalbim?
Why is my heart in pain?
Gül, gülünce aşkım aşkım
My love overflows when it sees roses
Akıl düşüyor güle
My mind is lost to the rose
Bak, sana ben güller aldım
Look, I got you roses
Ama soluyor nafile, ah
But they fade away in vain, alas
Sen gittiğinden beri, ah sen
Since you left, oh you
Geri geri aldım saatleri
I took back the time, little by little
Ben seni seni, vo bırakmam diye
I won't leave you, I won't leave you like that
Gel, deli gibi bozdum sen gideli
Come, I went crazy after you left
Öyle bir saat tuttum ki içimden
I held an hour in my heart
Ne kadar gel desen de
No matter how much you ask me to come
O kadar daha var ama
There's still some time left
Öyle akıl almaz geçmişti ki günler
The days passed in an unimaginable way
Böyle akıllanmaz
It doesn't make one wiser
Her gün birini sever, birine gider
Every day one loves someone, one goes to someone else
Gelmezsen eğer, ah
If you don't come, alas
Ah sen
Oh you
