In 1972, Yves Duteil had first minor hit with a song called "Virages" (English: "Turns"). Included on his 1974 debut album L'Écritoire, it shares fame with such songs as the title track and from his next album, "J'attends" (1976), "Tisserand", "Les Batignolles" (an area of Paris), etc.
His 1977 album "Tarentelle" which will become his most classic, including not only his most famous song ("Prendre Un Enfant") but also such songs as the title track, "Le Petit Pont de Bois", "Le Mur De La Prison D'En Face" which have all become classicss.
In 2001, Duteil released "Sans Attendre", more introspective than ever and with much modesty, he tackles some aspects of his life in a way that can bring a deep sight on life, understood in the light of spiritual love. In a simple way, he sings about friendship in tough times ("Les Gestes Délicats"), compassion for a father who never showed him that much affection, which never prevents Duteil to answer with love and sings all the kind words he found to his father, no matter what his childhood was like ("Lettre À Mon Père"). And probably the most touching song: "Pour Que Tu Ne Meures Pas", which deals with Yves Duteil's wife's disease.
La légende des arbres

Réunit ses sujets
Dans son palais de marbre
Au cœur de la forêt
Le chêne à Brocéliande
Le cèdre du Liban
Et le vieux pin des Landes
Le vent porta l'affaire
À travers les forêts
Les arbres de la Terre
Ont déclaré la paix
Vivre était leur désir
Porter chacun leurs fruits
C'était "vaincre ou mûrir"
Leur devise et leur cri
Leurs fleurs, en grand mystère
Imperceptiblement,
S'ouvraient vers la lumière
En prenant tout leur temps
Et du cœur des charpentes
Des coques des bateaux
Aux linteaux des soupentes
Et aux traverses du métro
Du papier dans les livres
Et du corps des crayons
Le bois semblait revivre
Et devenait chanson
Libres de leurs amarres
Les mâts qui naviguaient
Répondaient aux guitares
Et les arbres chantaient
Jamais de mémoire d'homme
On n'entendit ce chant
Mais dans le cœur des ormes
Il résonnait comme un printemps
Cyprès de Palestine
Et l'arbre de Judée
Ont mêlé leurs racines
Autour de l'olivier
Les arbres de la Terre
Se sont tendu les mains
Par-delà les frontières
Au-dessus des humains
Et la rose des vents
Échangeant les pollens
A mis du pommier blanc
Sur les fleurs de l'ébène
Et la rose des vents
Échangeant les pollens
A mis du pommier blanc
Sur les fleurs de l'ébène
Cette légende ancienne
On l'entend dans les bois
Le vent dans les vieux chênes
La chante encore parfois
Celui de Brocéliande
Et le cèdre au Liban
Mais le vieux pin des Landes
A brûlé entre-temps
Les saules ont tant versé
De larmes de rosée
Tant porté dans leurs feuilles
Les deuils du temps passé
Si nous n'entendions plus
Ce que le vent nous crie
Les hommes auraient perdu
La source de leur vie
Et le parfum des fleurs
La pulpe de leurs fruits
Déverseraient en vain
Au fond des cœurs meurtris
Des torrents de douceur
Et des flots d'harmonie
Yves Duteil's song "La légende des arbres" tells the story of a meeting of trees that took place in a marble palace deep within the forest. The King of the Trees brought together his subjects - the Oak of Brocéliande, the Cedar of Lebanon, and the old Pine of the Landes - to conceive of a grand plan. Their desire was to live freely and bear fruit, and their motto was "to conquer or mature." Through the wind, the news of their plan was carried across the forests, and soon the trees of the Earth declared peace. With patience, their flowers opened towards the light, and from their wood, music and art were created. The trees became a song, and even the masts of the ships and the trolley tracks sang with them.
The legend of the trees is old, and it continues to be heard in the woods still today. The wind whispers it through the old oaks and the cedar of Lebanon. But the old pine of the Landes has burnt down. The willows still weep and carry the sorrows of the past. If we stopped listening to what the wind is saying, then the people would have lost the source of their life. The fragrance of the flowers and the sweetness of the fruits, which are capable of pouring out into the human heart, would have been in vain, and a torrent of sweetness and harmony would not be felt.

Merci Bruno tellement beau ...

Emmanuelle
