She left Polygram in 1990, moved to São Paulo and decided to dedicate herself to a less commercial repertoire than that demanded by her former record label. She put together the show "Sobre Todas as Coisas", backed up by Marcos Suzano (percussion) and Lui Coimbra (violin-cello), with whom she toured Brazil. The show was later recorded by the label Eldorado. In 1993, "Valsa Brasileira", with its slick repertoire and expert technical back-up, was released by the label Velas and helped to put her up amongst the leading names on the MPB scene. In 1997, she recorded "Per Amore" – which was a commercial sensation, with its sales boosted by the title track. The following year, she released "Passione", an album Italian songs, only.
E Chiove

À 'ggente nun ce cape
Se fa 'na prucessione
Ca cammina chianu chianu
Nun è morto nisciuno
Num è 'o santo e nisciuno
Nun se sente na voce
E nun sona na campana
Ca s'arapene 'e funtane
E chiove, n'capo 'e criature
Vulesse arravuglià 'sta luna cu 'na funa
Pe m'a purtà luntano
Pe m'a purtà luntano
Addoo cielo che è cielo
Nun se fai mai scuro
E chiove, n'terra e nisciuno
Vulesse cummanà pe' spremmere e dulure
Dinto a 'stu ciummo amaro
Ca nun conosce 'o mare
Pecchè 'o mare è luntano eppure sta vicine
Ritornello
Comm'è llonga 'sta via
Pecchè nun sponta mai
Se perde dint' 'e 'pprete
'mmiezo 'e carte arravugliate
Sotto 'a l'evera 'e muro
Ca s'arrampeca e 'ggiura
'e jastemme de'journe
'e serate senza pane
E intanto 'o cuore aspetta
Ca s'arapene 'e funtane
E chiove, n'capo 'e criature...
These lyrics are from the Italian song "E Chiove" by Zizi Possi. The song talks about a narrow street where there is not enough space for people to move freely, and a slow-moving procession seems to be taking place. No one has died, and no one is a saint, but there is no noise or the sound of a bell. Meanwhile, the heart waits, hoping for the fountains to open. The song continues, talking about the rain, the moon, and the sea, and how despite the sea being far away, it still feels close. The long road never seems to end, and people lose themselves amongst piles of crumpled papers, under the shade of the wall, climbing and swearing, in the absence of food.
The lyrics seem to paint a vivid picture of a difficult life for the people living on this narrow street. The procession moving slowly could be symbolic of the slow pace of life, where people do not seem to be going anywhere. The heart waiting for the fountains could represent hope, that something will change in their lives, and the fountains will bring some relief. The use of the rain, moon, and sea could represent the different emotions that people experience in their lives, from the sadness of the rain, the hopelessness of the moon, to the distance and isolation of the sea. Overall, the song talks about a challenging life, but there is still hope that something will change.
