Andymori first formed in 2007, performing live at live houses in the Tokyo area. Their first big event was the Fuji Rock Festival in 2008, where they performed on the new artist stage. The band released their first EP "アンディとロックとベンガルトラとウィスキー" in October 2008, as the first new artist signed to Youth Records. This was followed by their full-length album in February 2009, "andymori".The lead single, "Follow Me," was chosen as an iTunes Single of the Week free download song in January.
The band performed at many of the major summer festivals in 2009, such as Rock in Japan and Summer Sonic.In October, the band held their first one man live, and featured on the 10 year anniversary tribute album for Quruli.
In 2010, the band released their second album, "ファンファーレと熱狂". Prior to its release, they were picked as one of the iTunes Japan "Sound of 2010" break-through artists,and their video for "Follow Me" was nominated for the Best New Artist award for the 2010 Space Shower Music Video Awards. The album has so far reached #9 on the Oricon albums daily charts.
At the end of 2010, their first drummer left the band, being replaced by Kenji Okayama (岡山健二), his first live with the band being in December of the same year. At the beginning of 2011, they got the Grande Prize at the 3rd CD Shop Awards and released a digital single called "兄弟", donating all the funds that came from it to the reconstruction of Japan after March 11's tsunami and earthquake. Their third album, "革命", was released soon after, in June; it reached the 8th position on the Oricon daily album charts.
On 2012, they had plans to release their 4th album, "光", at May 2nd (it was originally planned to be released in March 3rd, but was postponed), and perform a Zepp Tour in order to promote it.
In 2014, it was announced that Andymori would break up after seven years. The band released its final album, Uchū no Hate wa Kono Me no Mae ni , on June 26 of that year, and perform a tour from July until September. The final date of the tour was held at the Nippon Budokan on September 24.

The lyrics of andymori's song Bengal Tora To Whisky express a feeling of being trapped and aimless, both physically and emotionally. The singer describes a Bengal tiger and an Indian peafowl, both pacing aimlessly inside their cages. The singer watches them, feeling a strange connection to the animals, as they are both trapped like him. He longs for simple pleasures like looking up at the beautiful sky, hearing the voice of someone he cares about, but instead wastes his days drinking cheap whiskey until they become meaningless. He repeats the phrase "life is a party, life is showtime," not because he believes it, but because he's resigned to the fact that this is how he's spending his time. The voice of the singer becomes desperate in the final chorus when he repeats "take it easy" twice, as if he's trying to convince himself of the simplicity of finding happiness.
The song seems to be a metaphor for the emptiness and purposelessness that can sometimes come with modern life.
