When you keep hearing the same kind of female lead voice actors in Dubs, it's nice to hear something new and I hope to hear more from Marisa Duran in other series. Plus snce I loved the manga for Horimiya, I'm watching the series in both languages. They both handle quiet moments with subtlety and both make the comedy hilarious. If there's a key difference, it's conversations about names and the use of honorifics which make the sub sound more natural in some scenes, while the dub avoids honorifics and goes the extra mile to match lip syncing in every scene with additional surprised sounds or words which can make it funnier, but I never felt anything was out of place. All in all, great in both languages.

News flash, Anime & Manga doesn't depict or define realism, doesn't matter if it's the SOL Genre or not. It's still animated, characters are still written and directed a certain way. So what if you have a low-pitched voice? No one cares, because you're not an anime character, you're a real person. I like their voices. Hori sounds like an actual teenager and that's one of the things I love about the dub version of this show.

Slice of life is defined as 'the depiction of mundane experiences in art and entertainment', so everyday ordinary things. Normal people. She sounds like a genuine person in the dubbed version. I like the subbed version as well, but I feel like her dubbed voice suits her more because it sounds more like her actual voice instead of that high-pitched version which most anime girls are depicted as having.

It suits some characters to have high voices, like Remi. But Hori is a very mature person even while at school. I really don't think she would try to pitch her voice higher just to be cuter. Nothing about her character in either version give me the impression that she would.

Edit: If you like this you have to mostly likely like most slice of life anime or never actually seen a good romance(no offense). I've seen so many to say and even without seeing other good romances I could easily tell this isn't that good this is done poorly(my opinion). Also the characters voice in sub don't fit the characters they play sometimes. Which makes alot of scenes bland or cringe.

@@murderman8578 Correction. Horimiya's final chapter will be out this month, but it has yet to be released or translated. Additionally, there will be extra chapters when the final Volume 16 is released. Translators will release those as well. Not release date yet for Volume 16 in Japan.
