Supermassive Gravity
mind.in.a.box Lyrics

Impossible to close: this place has supermassive gravity.

Lautlos bleiben in Rumino des Arzt...Dieses Meer von Sternen, Fragen und tiefschwarzer Unendlichkeit.
(Silently... This sea of stars, questions and deep black infinity.)

Unbesonnenheit ist das Charakteristikum der Jugend,
Besonnenheit das des Alters und Vorsicht ist der bessere Teil der Tapferkeit.
(Rashness is the characteristic of the youth,
The prudence of age and caution is the better part of valor.)

Black atmosphere devours in the silence floating ships
Unable to resist in vain they fight against infinity
Seven years ago they`ve reached a wall of inhumanity
Impossible to kill the space and supermassive gravity

Unbesonnenheit ist das Charakteristikum der Jugend,
Besonnenheit das des Alters und Vorsicht ist der bessere Teil der Tapferkeit.

I interrupt your transmission:
I will distort your position.
There is no way to escape,
No chance to fly away.

My sense of elimination,
no time for recreation.
A dark shade will cover you
forever in deep blue.

I send out lots of machines:
to kill you and your dreams.
Horizon M86
will give you the final stitch.

Accelerated elements:
a growing, sparkling heat intense.
A dark shade has covered you
forever in deep blue.

Black atmosphere devours in the silence floating ships
Unable to resist in vain they fight against infinity
Seven years ago they`ve reached a wall of inhumanity
Impossible to kill the space and supermassive gravity

Tiefschwarze Unendlichkeit.
(Deep, black infinity.)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Supermassive Gravity" by the band Mind.in.a.box are a powerful commentary on the unforgiving nature of space and the struggle of humanity to comprehend and survive in its presence. The opening line of the song, "Impossible to close: this place has supermassive gravity," sets the tone for the rest of the piece. The first verse describes the vastness of space, the sea of stars, questions, and deep black infinity that loom overhead. The following lines speak to the folly of youth, the wisdom of age, and the importance of caution in the face of overwhelming challenges.

The chorus of the song returns to the theme of the immense power of space and the futility of fighting against it. The "black atmosphere" that "devours" floating ships is a metaphor for the crushing weight of gravity that pulls everything towards its center. Despite their efforts, humanity is unable to resist the relentless pull of infinity, and seven years ago, they reached a "wall of inhumanity" that made it clear they could not escape their fate. The final lines of the song return to the idea of deep black infinity, reinforcing the idea that space is unfathomable and terrifyingly powerful.

Overall, "Supermassive Gravity" is a haunting and thought-provoking piece of music that explores the existential horrors of space travel and the limits of human understanding.

This is... quite possibly THE best EBM tune... ever. No wait, it is... period.

@massivinmensch

:-)

@X3MCTZN

It aint pure EBM..... I love it the synth is strong with this one, can't possibly distinguish the genre, EBM Synth, and futurepop I hear, !??!?!

@Shaeith

Yeah it’s definitely in between EBM and Futurepop but tbh it’s a tad too heavy to be Futurepop.

I might be wrong but I usually look at it as Synthpop being the most chill, going up I place Futurepop, EBM, Industrial, Aggrotech and then Noise. But it’s arbitrary.

Also, we need this version on Spotify BADLY!!!

@DaemionBlackFire

You know, I remember a time when electronic music was just "electronic music" not synthwave or coldwave or aggrotech or futurepop or whatever the fuck you're talking about. It's just damn fine electronic music. period. And if you REALLY want to classify it; Industrial music. Nothing more, nothing less. Fuck those "sub-genres"

@LordMegaManiac

@X3MCTZN
