I lost my dad 7 years ago. My mum held onto his ashes and asked that once she is gone that we take them both to their favorite place. It was a beautoful river where they would often go with us kids when we were little.
My mother passed away just a few days ago and we decided to grow a tree from our parents ashes. Once we can see the tree is growning strong we will plant it by the Riverside.
This is the perfect song for the occasion.
It brings memories of the great times we had.
It makes us appreciate our friends and loved ones.
And the will grow as steady as the flowers as we grow older still.

Tbh, this is not my favourite song of his (maybe it depends on my mood, haha, right now I always play his song Nica Libres) 😅, but i can't deny that this is really a good song, it's just sad that his backing vocals and bandmate India Bourne was no longer in the band. I really like her voice though, it compliments ben. The first 2 albums are gems. Regarding the series, yes, I like the relationship between the main character and his sister. Cheers!

Yep just finished binging First Love and first time hearing this songs, only need to hear a few seconds of it to immediately add it to my playlist. Speaking of, First Love was also amazing, speaking as someone who wasn’t anticipating it (family member roped me into watching them over Thanksgiving). This is the favorite song that I had playing, when I was In a terribly devastating vehicle collision a few years back. I had it on intentionally because I was on the way to a happy time, visiting my son up north and this was just fitting...it was the best, meandering county road on a warm evening with the windows down and this song on to accompany me on the last leg of my journey.

In the end, during my recovery and even now this song ended up lending me a lot of strength, and reminding me of what was important. This album ended up being the soundtrack to one of the most difficult, and then one of the strongest, times of my life. Thank you for that.

I believe Ben Howard to be one of those few that are true artists, because more than songs, he crafts emotions. You watch/listen to this song, Keep Your Head Up or These Waters and you can't help but getting happy and willing to live fully. Then you listen to Follaton Wood or Bones and you get fucking sad. Charlie Clark Have always been struggling with social anxiety and a couple of months ago it turned into non-stop, full blown anxiety which later soon after med me very depressed. Suicide is on my mind most of the time kind of deal. The other day i relistened to some old music because i wanted to find some less depressing music for a change and happened to find «Keep your head up». My brother used to play Ben Howard all day in his bedroom, smoking weed constantly every day, I was always home alone with him yet I was never so far apart from him, he rarely talked to me and I really wish we had a stronger bond, especially now that he's moved far from home and he's got a girl and he's starting his life a new. I try to have the perspective (and sometimes fail) to speak of art differently than I am in the habit of speaking. Rather than speaking of art by saying "X is bad", I try instead to say something akin to "I cannot personally appreciate X".

For me, I was also confused about the new work, and it doesn't personally resonate with me, but if a painter whose landscapes I fell in love with puts out some portraits and I don't find those as inspiring, I am grateful for the landscapes, and wish them fortune from afar on their portraits, as perhaps someone must like portraits more than they like landscapes, as an analogy.

It reminds me of how beautiful our world is, and it gives me memories of driving down to the ocean when I was younger. The sense of the calm guitar makes you feel like you’re in an atmosphere of camping by the fire, in a pine tree woods, the sea not too far away, getting up in the morning and surfing, having no worries or cares. It reminds me and you, and everyone that they can live the easy life and that you can always get through any bad stuff. It makes you feel at home. It makes you happy.
A song like this is a good song, and I hope that in years to come, I can play this song to my children and live a easy life. I don’t like how music has changed in the past years, from materialised pop songs, to narcissistic rap music about money and fame, including explicit language. But there are some artists that have nice, calm music, and Ben Howard is definitely one of those people. Songs on the radio are stressing. These songs are soothing and happy. And they definitely sooth the soul. :)))

I only knew the lines 'We stood steady as the stars (...) we sang just to bless the morning." and I googled pine fell for the exact meaning, because I'm german, and this song is honestly the best thing that could have happened to me. It reminds me so much of last summer when i was with a youthgroup at the spanish coast on a camping place and because this time was really life changing for me, i write a story about it atm. I had struggles with writing lately but this song makes me feel all the nostalgia, the golden afternoon light, the sound of the waves and the laughters, the yellow light in our camp at night ..oncemore. Brings me back to the eyes of that special boy that were just as bright as the ocean and the way the waves crashed against my fragile hips. Thank you so much for that song, thank you so much for making me relive a time that still beats like a second heart within my chest. Now i only have to close my eyes and i can hear the birds twitter again in the morning

Love this song. Reminds me of foxhunting in Virginia. It's a joyful experience being outside on a cold autumn day, running through the forest on a kind horse. The sounds and smells are so unique . . .that's what this song brings to me every time I hear it.

Listening to this in the playlist for the Every Kingdom album, and this just reminds me of how dark his new stuff is.
Don't get me wrong, I love 'I Forget Where We Were" but Every Kingdom just feels more festive and upbeat.

He's my favorite regardless.

Someone who is really good too is James Vincent McMorrow. They are by no means the same but the both have really feel good music.

Ben Howard makes me feel nostalgia for things I've never experienced. Reminding me of a C.S Lewis quote I can't find exactly but something like “a longing in the heart for something we know not.” or "nostalgia for far off home never visited." It makes me feel like I'm 13 again and then like I'm old and looking back at my life all at once.

Where has this song been my whole life? I don't know if it's just me but some songs make me feel like I can't even explain. I feel like it should be the theme song to life. The background music to everything. It would be a happy song at a happy moment and a sad song at a sad moment. Nostalgic is how I feel when I listen to this. It's confusing, yet beautiful...
