During the next two decades Carman changed the face of Christian music and evolved contemporary evangelism into what it is today. Carman established "Carman World Outreach," a non-profit organization that helps touch the lives of literally millions of people worldwide. Billboard Magazine recognized Carman's influence in Christian music by first naming him "Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year" in 1990. He has received numerous gold and platinum albums and videos. Even with all this success, the heartbeat of this Champion for Christ continues to beat strong for the souls of people who need Jesus. As an outflow of this passion, Carman had more than 50,000 people attend his "Music for Peace" crusade in Johannesburg, South Africa. These numbers topped the charts as his largest concert crusade ever, until more than 70,000 people packed the legendary Texas Stadium, making it the largest Christian concert in history.
For over 26 years, Carman has entertained, encouraged and preached the Gospel to millions-crossing denominational, cultural and ethnic lines. During this time, he has never compromised the call to take the Gospel to every person.
Carman died on February 16, 2021 (28 days after his 65th birthday) in a Las Vegas hospital, after a series of complications resulting from surgery to repair a hiatal hernia. He was survived by his ex-wife, five stepchildren and ten step-grandchildren.

God is exalted
I'm takin' off, off to a higher place
A higher level where the devil
Don't have power 'cause Christ be the King
In other words, this be a Jesus thing
So hold on tightly 'cause there just might be
Friction and turbulence, so grab a grip
And stop trippin' 'cause the devil want to see you
Slippin' in the darkness
Put on your wings, fly through the clouds
Our destination is Salvation
So make sure you check into the right location
And don't forget to get that first class reservation
Which be the blood of the Lamb
Jesus Christ is the captain in command
And with Christ as the captain we are sure to
Fly the friendly skies
God is exalted and Satan is defeated
Jesus Christ is Lord
God is exalted and Satan is defeated
Jesus Christ is Lord
Watch out, there's a storm ahead
We're hittin' the air pockets, but just like rockets
We're breakin' free spiritually
A three point landing guaranteed
Stay buckled to the Word of God
It keeps is strong, away from wrong
Uppity, uppity up where we belong
So off we go
But now you all see the R.I.O.T. posse
Ain't gonna crash like a kamikaze
So let's keep flying to the sky and
Don't listen to the devil 'cause he be lyin'
God is exalted and Satan is defeated
Jesus Christ is Lord
God is exalted and Satan is defeated
Jesus Christ is Lord
He's exalted
God's exalted
He's exalted
God's exalted
The song "God Is Exalted" by Carman is a powerful anthem that speaks about our spiritual journey towards salvation, highlighting the power of Jesus Christ in defeating Satan. The song begins with the singer declaring that he is heading towards a higher place, where Christ is the king and the devil has no power. The idea is to invite the listeners to join him on this journey and trust in Christ as their savior. The lyrics urge listeners to “put on their wings” and fly with Christ through the clouds, where their destination is salvation. The first-class reservation is acquired by the blood of the lamb, which is Jesus Christ himself. By submitting ourselves to him, we can fly the friendly skies without fear.
The song continues with the warning of the storm ahead and the air pockets that we may hit along the way. However, by staying buckled to the Word of God, we will remain strong and away from the wrong. The song concludes with a declaration that God is exalted and Satan is defeated, and Jesus Christ is Lord. The message of the song is one of hope and encouragement to those who are struggling in their faith, reminding them that Jesus Christ is the captain in command and that he will guide them to their spiritual destination.
