Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns
Mother Love Bone Lyrics

Chloe don't know better
Chloe just like me, only beautiful
A couple of years of difference
But those lessons never learned
Chloe danced the tables in the french quarter
She always been given so I can't always make her laugh
But I'm proud to say
And I won't forget
Time spent laying by her side
Time spent laying by her side
And dreams like this must die
And dreams like this must die
And dreams like this must

You ever heard the story of Mr.Faded Glory?
Say he who rides a pony must someday fall
Been talkin' to my alter
Say life is what you make it
And if you make it death well then rest your soul away
Away away yeah child
It's a broken kind of feeling
She'd have to tie me to the ceiling
A bad moon's a comin' better say your prayers, child
I want to tell her that I love you
But does it really matter?
I just can't stand to see you dragging down Again
Again
My baby again, oh, yeah

So I'm singing
And this is my kinda love
It's the kind that moves on
It's unkind and leaves me alone
Yes it does

And this is my kinda love
It's the kind that moves on
It's unkind that leaves me alone

I uses to treat you like a lady
Now you're a substitute teacher
This bottle's not a pretty, not a pretty sight
I owe the man some money so I'm turnin' over honey
You see Mr.Faded Glory is once again doin' time, oh yeah

And this is my kinda love
It's the kind that moves on
It's the kind the leaves me alone
Yes, it does
And this is my kinda love
It's the kind that moves on
It's the kind that, it's the kind that
It leaves me alone, yeah

Like a crown of thorns
It's all who you know, yeah
So don't burn your bridges woman
'Cause someday, yeah

Kick it, oh yeah

And this is my kinda love
It's the kind that moves on
It's the kind that leaves me alone, yeah

This is my kinda love
It's the kind that moves on
It's the kind that, it's the kind that, yeah, yeah

Baby
I said com' on, com' on, com' on com' on yeah
I said baby
Don't burn your bridges, woman
Don't come back here
I said good times, tu tu tu
Tu tu tu
I said tu tu tu

Oh yeah, oh yeah

But I'm proud to say, and I won't forget
That time spent laying by her side, oh yeah
The time spent laying by her side, oh yeah
Dreams like this must die
And a dream like this must die
A dream like this must

Dedicated to all those people who, at least once in their life, have loved a girl like Chloe.

Ooo, yeah, yeah, yeah
Ooo, yeah, yeah, yeah

[Chloe Dancer]
Chloe don't know better
Chloe is just like me, only beautiful
A couple of years' difference
But those lessons never learned
Did you know?

Chloe dances the tables in the French Quarter
She's always been given
So I can't always make her laugh
But I'm proud to say
And I won't forget

The time spent laying by her side
The time spent laying by her side

Music is a time machine. A certain song can transport you back to a certain time, certain place, certain people and a certain feeling.

@garrison0532082 I saw Chains 93 Lalapalooza and Mad Season at the Moore 95. I’ve talked about the show at Moore and I’ve never had that happen at any other show and I’ve seen a lot. I grow more and more depressed every year because NOTHING AND I MEAN NOTHING will ever come close to those days. I fucking hate life now and everything that getting older comes with. My parents are gone, friends gone, always money issues, divorced, single never have anyone again. I just hope it’s almost over and maybe move onto something better after. Who knows right?

Jesus that fricking sums it perfectly! Well said my friend

Even to a certain smell. As odd as that may seem. Very well said!!!!

@Lane Corbett I have a different perspective. My young was rife with hardships, set backs, pain, abuse. Luckily I made it through with no addicts or any sort of drug abuse or even doing prison time (like I saw is some friends) I don’t look back at any of it in nostalgia. I embrace the calm now, as chaos was my life. Many enjoy telling stories of my “craziness” however, I would look nothing more than to forget.
Music is a great reminder. I reminds of the struggles I’ve been through, the pain I’ve endured, and the success I have become in my own life. My measure of success may not be the same as most, but to over come the things that have been thrown at me, and come out alive, not a victim of suicide, addicted to some sort of drug or alcohol, or in prison and to have a job where I finally have my own place, a reliable vehicle and NOT worry about food or finding a couch/floor to sleep on.. I consider myself successful.
Most look back on the past and long for those days, forgetting how hard chaotic and tumultuous it was.
I for one embrace the stagnant and slow pace now, I do not miss the constant stress of the chaos, and using drinking & partying labeled as “crazy adventures” to cover up and escape the struggles, stress, depression and mental anguish me and many others in my age group suffered through.
Do not be afraid to embrace a stagnant life.

Grew up in the 90’s(Class of 96)fell in love in the 90’s...from that love, I learned the greatest love of all. My beautiful son, Kyle. He was so musically driven, loved music, all kinds. This song he heard for the first time on a trip to Panama City Beach when he was 13, I will never forget the way it effected him, I could feel his energy heighten...he wanted to hear it over & over. I was so fkn proud, proud that he knew what good music was. I lost Kyle on a Sunday morning January 21,2018...I died with him that day, I haven’t heard this song since his passing & it took me to my knees. Please people never miss a moment with the ones who mean the most... I don’t know how I have survived, Kyle’s strength is the only explanation to this. Here’s to the 90’s & all the beautiful moments we will never get back! For Kyle, keep rocking!!!
