Susheela Raman Lyrics

Whispers to me in my solitude
Maya, my music of elation
Takes me to the heights
Where I can soar
Hear my cry
Let me weep the tears of joy
Maya, my intoxication
Secret lullaby surrounds my soul
Maya, my sound and sensation
Take me to the heights where I can soar
The song "Maya" by Susheela Raman is an ode to the creative and spiritual force of the universe, referred to here as "Maya". Maya is described as a spider-like creator weaving a web of creation, whispering to the singer in her solitary moments. In the chorus, the singer describes Maya as her intoxication, her music of elation, and her sound and sensation, which take her to great heights where she can soar.
The line "let me weep the tears of joy" suggests that the heights that Maya takes her to are emotional and spiritual rather than physical. The tears of joy may represent the overwhelming emotions that come with experiencing the beauty and wonder of creation. Maya is not just a force outside the singer, but also within her, surrounding her soul like a secret lullaby.
The song is a celebration of the power of music and creativity to lift us up and connect us to something greater than ourselves. It is a reminder that we are all part of a larger web of creation, and that by tapping into that creative energy, we can soar to new heights.
