Ghir Enta
Souad Massi Lyrics

Lyrics in english,
Let me in your mind
You the one who i love
My heart chose you
And didn't let a cure
today you're with me
But tomorrow, who knows?
This is how life
Sweet and bitter
No one but you
No one but you
No one but you has entered my heart
No one but you
No one but you
There's no one but you who stayed in my heart
Your love confusing me
Make me sleepless at night
Why do you torture me, my darling!
Spring does not last
And roses wilt
I'm with my own nonexistent
Let me in your mind "Think of me"
No one but you
No one but you
No one but you has entered my heart
No one but you
No one but you
There's no one but you who stayed in my heart

HalfLifeOfHumanity

I'm Algerian American. I've been a musician all my life, going from violin to piano as a child, and to the guitar at 13, of which I finally loved and stuck with for over 15 years to this day. It took a much longer time for me to invest myself in my 2nd biggest songwriting passion, which was wholeheartedly adopting a devout attitude towards fully and properly incorporating my isolated interest in singing into my guitar playing that was previously receiving all of my attention.. I always loved singing, but I'm a tragically bad multitasker, because it was not until about 6-7 years ago until I finally was able to pull off performing my first songs I ever performed both the vocals of and the guitar of simultaneously. I could have long ago just played my guitar parts separately and record my singing separately. But to me, playing and singing simultaneously rather than separately was not just a talent, but a crucial emotional and philosophical skill that was essential to properly conveying the meaning of a song with the greatest power and energy possible.
To put it short, I have had such a deep, emblazoned love for good music and genuine emotion in music for so long.

And its honestly always been hard for me to find music from my ancestral homeland that I truly liked for the music itself. Its been a chore to find music by Algerians and this wild goose chase has left me nearly completely dissatisfied. This in itself only made me feel sad and pushed me to pour more time into my own songwriting, lyric writing and guitar composition as an Algerian American songwriter myself and I pray by God's kindness and will, that I will be able to fill the void of which I have been deprived of myself growing up; the void being the emptiness of music I could truly find myself connecting with and enjoying as well.

But I'm really excited to say, that this is a song that clicked with me very quickly and near infinitely more personally with me than any other Algerian music artist I have heard up until this point! I really liked this song a lot, and pray that as I listen to more by this artist, I will come to love it and truly have found an Algerian Musician whose music I can Honestly say I genuinely Love!

I really love music with strong melancholic and grounded lyrics and style, truthfully dark life concepts and occurrences (absolutely not edgy music for the sake of being edgy), and music that exemplifies the human condition and life's necessary juxtaposition between (1) unbearable tragedy, relentless waves of hardship beating down on us like boulders on a beach, loss, grief, suffering, discrimination, hypocrisy, pain, AND (2) the undeniably alluring and truly beautiful nature that this often cruel life is also comprised of. Folk Musicians in this vain are my favorite, but I do not like all Folk musicians as a whole. Its a very broad genre anyways, just like "Indie rock" is super broad. I love Elliott Smith, Modest Mouse, Amy Winehouse, David Bowie, Ween, Nirvana (specifically the songs that were less Producer-influenced.. particularly the First and Third albums, and Hormoaning EP.. But not Nevermind at all... You could even say, I never mind "Nevermind" badum psht *Rimshot*), Twiddle.. But I do have a softspot for musicians with a both powerfully deep, as well as genuine love for music they create, regardless of genre, such as; Paco De Lucia's incredible unconventional flamenco, Yes and King Crimson for their incredible instrumentation, and much more I can't recall at the moment. And this is just music I absolutely love, discluding all the music I very much like, etc, which there is so much more of than I am currently recalling.
My point of this whole big long paragraph, and even the point of this entire writing itself, is that I was BEYOND pleasantly surprised to find Souad Massi, she is the first Algerian musician whose music I truly enjoyed and connected with upon first listen. And those words I am using to describe Souad Massi are ones I use to describe musicians I truly enjoy, and not influenced by my bias as an Algerian. As for a while I was biased and listened to Algerian musicians I otherwise would not listen to, because I wanted to support Algerian music and find Algerian Musicians I truly loved one day.

But that bias was left at the door years ago, and for the first time in my life I found an Algerian Musician I truly both really like the music of and connect with the music of personally! And I am so grateful!

Please if anyone knows of any other Algerian or Numidian/North-African artists whose music fit the bill I described earlier or is similar to the artists I listed of whom I love, please let me know ASAP; you will make me extremely happy and make me very grateful for the new music, and for the Algerian or North African heritage I was blessed with at birth.
Warm Regards, Best Wishes and Best Health & Well-being to All during this Chaotic, Turbulent Time!

Think of me
It’s you, I love
And you, My heat chose
I really don’t know what to do
Today, You are by my side
But tomorrow, who knows?
This is just life
Sweet and bitter

Only you x3
Who occupied my heart.
Only you x3
In my heart

X2
Your love puzzles me
And my nights won’t let me sleep
So why do you make me suffer this much?
Spring won't last forever
And roses wilt in the end
I'm a chaos, I'm a chaos
Think of me

Only you x3
Who occupied my heart.
Only you
In my heart

No one but you (ghir anta)
No one but you who entered my heart
No one but you who dwelled my heart
I can't sleep at night
I'm bewildered
Why my love , you hurt me
Why my love , you torture my heart .
No one but you

Souad Massi - No One But You

Think of me
Oh you who I love
My heart chose you
And I didn't find a cure
today you're with me
But tomorrow, who knows?
That’s how the world is
Sweet and bitter at the same time

No one but you
No one but you
No one but you has entered my heart
No one but you
No one but you
There's no one but you in my heart

Your love puzzles me
Make me stay up at night
oh why my dear,
Why do you torture me ?
Spring does not last forever
And roses wilt in the end
I'm in chaos, I'm in chaos
Think of me
