@Francine Sicard as good as it was - just listened to it- it just pales by comparison to her performance of this piece.. I think it has to do with the fact it's a Vivaldi .. His lasting magic just imbues this piece through and through .... Pales in comparison i say!

This , like frankmills said, I was a bit of a skeptic and this I heard one night very late, and something did fill me, I received it and I was grateful for it. It truly felt like a gift from god. It affected me for a long time afterwards after turning off the music. I simply could not believe it. It was overwhelming and a bit scary. What I thought afterwards was it was a tiny tiny tiny bit of what could be, given to me.

Je n'aurais pas dit mieux. Une élévation de l'âme. La voix de Sandrine Piau et son interpétation de ce Nisi Dominus reste pour moi l'une des meilleures (avec celle de Philippe Jaroussky) et nous rappelle que dans ces temps tourmentés, l'homme est capable de grande beauté!

Mi sono sempre chiesto se fosse possibile mettere in musica queste emozioni. Io penso che il modo di cantare questa sublime preghiera di Vivaldi da parte di Sandrine Piau sia il più grande elogio musicale fatto alla maternità. Le note profonde e prolungate, simili a quelle dei dolori del parto, si trasformano in un inno alla vita di potenza e intensità ineguagliate.
