Wasted Days
Cloud Nothings Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I know
My life's not gonna change
And I'll live
Through all these wasted days
Never thought
That I'd end up this way
And I know
It's gonna stay the same.

I thought
I would
Be more
Than this.

I know
I'm losing all my time
Can't believe
That it was all mine
Feeling sick
But I don't know why
Getting tired
Of living till I die.

Overall Meaning

In Cloud Nothings’ song “Wasted Days,” the lyrics are emotional and speak directly to the listener’s soul. The core message of this song is about feeling stuck in life and coming to terms with the fact that things might not change. Dylan Baldi, the lead singer of Cloud Nothings, captures the listener's attention with cries of “I know, my life's not gonna change” and “Never thought that I’d end up this way, and I know it’s gonna stay the same.” These lyrics express feelings of hopelessness as the singer realizes that things aren’t going to get better anytime soon.

They feel like they are just going through the motions, living day by day until death finally arrives.

I used to listen to this at the end of a run when I was working out in college. By the end of the song I would be taking massive strides at a dead sprint and feel like I could run through a brick wall. It's great for channeling your self loathing into something productive.

Had the same experience when I used to run years ago. This was my favorite song to run to. After work, alone in the gym in the dead of night, pounding the hell out of a treadmill. By the time you get to the end it was like a quasi-religious experience.

Sounds amazing! I will try soon.

Just saw them live for the first time last night, been waiting to see one of their shows for years and they absolutely crushed every song. When this song started it was like a bomb went off, everyone went nuts. But then when the mid-section started they switched it up and played the song completely differently than I had always heard it, way longer and almost more like doom-metal at times. Insanely good band and always have been

Omg this song was on a burnt cd in my car like 10 years ago. I've been trying to find it for so long, gave up and forgot about it years ago, and suddenly today youtube reccomended me a cloud nothings song and I immediately recognized the sound/vocals and spent a solid 10 minutes pouring through their songs and finally found this again
