They started when J.Y. Park formed an 11 member group known as One Day. Eventually the group was split into 2PM and a similar but independent group known as 2AM. 2PM debuted with the song "10점 만점에 10점" (10 out of 10), which showcased their acrobatic dance styles.
2PM achieved their first #1 single with "Again & Again", from their first studio album 1:59PM, released in 2009. They made their Japanese debut with REPUBLIC OF 2PM in 2011.

relistening to 2PM songs after mid twenties feels different ... you really need to relisten to 2PM masterpieces after maturing in life ... it just hits in a deeper way .. the high schooler me back then was just enjoying the songs running through each song in the album being crazy about streaming the title without really savouring the lyrics
