Their current lineup consists of Hoffmann, vocalist Mark Tornillo, guitarists Uwe Lulis and Philip Shouse, drummer Christopher Williams and bassist Martin Motnik. Before arriving at their current lineup, Accept has undergone numerous lineup changes, being Hoffmann the last remaining original member since its inception, and he is the only band member to appear on each album.
Accept played an important role in the development of speed and thrash metal, and they were part of the German heavy metal scene, which emerged in the early to mid-1980s. They have also been cited as an influence or inspiration by a number of acts, including Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Pantera, Testament, Anthrax, Guns N' Roses, Mötley Crüe, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Overkill, Exodus, and Annihilator, as well as fellow Germans such as Helloween, Blind Guardian, Doro, Sodom, Rage, and Grave Digger. Accept achieved its first commercial success with their fifth studio album Balls to the Wall (1983), which is the band's only album to be certified gold in the United States and Canada, and spawned their well-known hit "Balls to the Wall".
Accept have broken up and reformed multiple times. They first split up in 1989, several months after the release of Eat the Heat (which was their only album with Dirkschneider's initial replacement David Reece), but reformed in 1992 and released three more albums before disbanding again in 1997. After briefly reuniting in 2005, Accept announced their third reunion in 2009, with former T.T. Quick frontman Mark Tornillo replacing Dirkschneider (who declined to participate), and the band has recorded five albums with him: Blood of the Nations (2010), Stalingrad (2012), Blind Rage (2014), The Rise of Chaos (2017) and Too Mean to Die (2021); each of those albums renewed Accept's popularity in Germany and entered the top ten charts there.

Final Journey
Accept Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Time is of the essence
A fear that you’ll be left alone.
A warning, a presence,
Delivery of a message
It’s all there in the unknown.
Alerting, averting
Shots ring out from afar.
Swerving, observing,
The sound is a piercing screech
Of a speeding car.
It’s your final journey.
Destination unknown!
On your final journey
You’ll be travelling alone.
A pitching and rolling,
Sensation controlling
You strike while the iron’s a glow.
Sensing the danger
One look from a stranger just passing
Somehow you know.
It’s your final journey.
Destination unknown!
On your final journey
You’ll be travelling alone.
Urgent, urgent
Somehow it’s all converging.
Your instincts tell you to run
Away from the blackness, the fear and the madness.
Onward, into the sun.
It’s your final journey.
Destination unknown!
On your final journey
You’ll be travelling alone.
The lyrics of Accept's song Final Journey describe the experience of facing one's mortality and the fear that comes with it. The first verse describes a sense of foreboding and urgency, with the fear that one will be left alone. The singer describes the feeling of a warning or presence, which is both disconcerting and alerting. The second verse describes the sound of gunfire and a screeching car, indicating the fear and violence that often accompany such instances. The chorus repeatedly emphasizes the final journey and the fact that it is ultimately a solitary one.
The third verse further explores the feeling of danger and control, with the sensation of pitching and rolling indicating a lack of stability and the need to act while one still can. The presence of a stranger passing by adds to the sense of the unknown and impending doom. The final verse is urgent, with the singer's instincts telling them to run away from the blackness, fear, and madness. The final journey ultimately leads toward the sun, symbolizing hope and the possibility of something beyond the fear and uncertainty.

I don't really like those new bands you mentioned like sabaton and alestorm because their style is way to different of what heavy metal was used to be.
