I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues

Don't look at it like it's forever
Between you and me I could honestly say that things can only get better
And while I'm away
Dust out the demons inside
And it won't be long before you and me run
To the place in our hearts where we hide
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Time on my hands could be time spent with you
Laughing like children, living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Stare into space
Picture my face in your hands
Live for each second without hesitation
And never forget I'm your man
Wait on me girl
Cry in the night if it helps
Oh more than ever I simply love you
More than I love life itself
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Time on my hands could be time spent with you
Laughing like children, living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Wait on me girl
Cry in the night if it helps
But more than ever I simply love you
More than I love life itself
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Time on my hands could be time spent with you
Laughing like children, living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Laughing like children, living like lovers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
Laughing like children, living like lovers
And I guess that's why they call it the blues
The song "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues" by Alessia Cara is a cover of the original song written and performed by Elton John. The lyrics in the song convey a message of hope, love, and perseverance through troubled times. The first verse begins with "Don't wish it away", telling the listener to appreciate and savor the present moment instead of wanting it to pass quickly. The next line, "Don't look at it like it's forever", encourages the listener to acknowledge that things may not always be good, but they won't last forever. The chorus continues with the sentiment that spending time with loved ones, enjoying each other's company and letting go of worries is what brings happiness and joy to life. John's lyric "Time on my hands could be time spent with you." is related to the fact that he was touring during the height of his career and missing spending time with his family.
The second verse tells the listener to face their inner demons and find inner peace, before coming back to the ones they love. The lines advise to cherish every moment and live life without fear; this can be seen in the lines" live for each second without hesitation". The song continues with reassurance that the singer will always be there for the listener, with the line "never forget I'm your man". The song finishes with the chorus, emphasizing the importance of love, laughter, and intimacy.
Overall, the song is about finding comfort in joyous moments in life, and in the people who make those moments happen. It is about the importance of cherishing your loved ones and living life to the fullest, without fear or hesitations.
