A sparrow landed on my window sill

I asked "Where did you come from?"
It said "From the limits of the sky"
"What brought you here?"
"I escaped from a neighboring house"
"What frightened you so?"
"The cage I was put in"
"Why are you feathers gone?"
"The hand of time plucked them out"
Its wings broken and tears in its frightened eyes
