Don't want to play cause I'm outta luck in this town, in this town
Tomorrow I'll be in another state
I get so nervous cause I just can't wait to see you
I guess I need you
Don't believe everything you read about me
(People talk, but it doesn't matter what they say)
It comes a little too late
Can't stop thinking I'm to blame
Cause you're ready for the next one
The distance killed the burning flame
And I can't stop myself from trying to figure out
The fastest way to work this out
Cause I'm ready for you
Three words can't fix us anymore
I know you've (?) been working nine to five
I know you miss me, but you try to hide your feelings
Cause I gave you reasons
I remember when you took your breaks
You called to tell me all about your day
I miss that
Why can't we fix that
Don't believe everything you read about me
(People talk, but it doesn't matter what they say)
I know you're always waiting for a status update
It comes a little too late
Can't stop thinking I'm to blame
Cause you're ready for the next one
The distance killed the burning flame
And I can't stop myself from trying to figure out
The fastest way to work this out
Cause I'm ready for you
Three words can't fix us anymore
Can't fix us anymore...
Three words can't fix us anymore
Can't stop thinking I'm to blame
Cause you're ready for the next one
The distance killed the burning flame
And I can't stop myself from trying to figure out
The fastest way to work this out
Cause I'm ready for you
Three words can't fix us anymore
The lyrics of Amber Pacific's song "Three Words" reflect the complexity and challenges of a long-distance relationship that is struggling to survive. The singer is torn between his desire to reconnect with his partner, whom he misses dearly, and his fear of rejection and disappointment. The refrain "Three words can't fix us anymore" suggests that the relationship has gone beyond the point where simple declarations of love and commitment can heal its wounds.
The first verse describes the singer's ambivalence towards reaching out to his partner. He misses her intensely but is hesitant to contact her, fearing that it will only make his longing more acute. The second verse alludes to the rumors and gossip that may have driven a wedge between them, but the singer tries to reassure his partner that they are not true. However, he acknowledges that he has been remiss in communicating with her, which may have made her doubt his intentions.
The final verse is a lament for what the couple has lost. The singer recalls the small details of their relationship, such as how she used to call him during her breaks at work, and longs to recapture that intimacy. However, he is also painfully aware that distance and time have eroded their connection, and that they may not be able to salvage what they once had.
Overall, "Three Words" is a heartfelt and relatable exploration of the complexities of love and loss in a long-distance relationship.
