Seemann feat Nina Hagen
Apocalyptica Lyrics

So ganz allein treibst du davon
Wer halt deine Hand
Wenn es dich nach unten zieht?
Wo willst du hin?
Komm in mein Boot
Komm in mein Boot
Die Sehnsucht wird der Steuermann
Komm in mein Boot
Kalt...
Kalt...
The lyrics of Apocalyptica's song "Seemann" tell a story of a person who is lost and alone, facing the storms and darkness of life. The singer offers their support and comfort, inviting the person to come aboard their boat, metaphorically representing a safe haven or a place of emotional refuge. The lyrics express concern for the person's well-being, asking where they want to go and who will hold their hand when they feel weighed down by life's burdens.
The imagery of the stormy sea and the cold, boundless waves represents the overwhelming and relentless nature of the person's struggles. The singer assures them that they are not alone and that they can rely on them to navigate through the difficulties. The mention of a lighthouse and tears on their face reflects the person's emotional state, while the reference to the autumn wind and falling leaves suggests a sense of transition and melancholy.
Overall, "Seemann" is a song that speaks to the human need for connection, comfort, and understanding in times of darkness and uncertainty. It portrays a compassionate voice offering solace to someone who feels lost and reminds them that they are not alone in their struggles.

Such a shame Nina never had any further collaborations with Apocalyptica; this truly is a masterpiece; loved it ever since I first heard it when I bought the album back when it came out.
