Yeah, uh
Got a K on my side
Yea I feel like Katozai
And these bitches only want me cause my pockets high
And I know you feel it inside
You don't wanna be alive
But I promise it's gon' be alright
But you've been on my mind
And you always hard to find
Tryna see if you alright
Cause I know it's been hard times
Just tell me if you alright
Ima always be by yo side
Just tell me where you reside
Yea, uh
Yea you've been on my mind
And I love you like you lie
Smoking gas tho can we get high
Choppa on my hip and it go (Fa, fa)
Run up on me then you must wanna die
He started playing he's out his mind
They looking for love its hard to find
You left me feel the pain in my heart
Yea just stay with me
You know that you've been in my dreams
Hop in the ride
Sipping on lean
You know I cant lie
Im high off a bean
Red dot and a glock and a beam
I really don't know what these niggas is saying on me
We get to the bag
We get to the cheese
Baby just stay don't leave
Hope my momma proud of me
They gon' hate when a nigga shine
Baby you've been all on my mind
Bae do not leave just let me inside
But you've been on my mind
And you always hard to find

In Arab's song "Off My Mind," the lyrics reflect a mix of emotions and themes, including love, pain, loneliness, and a sense of self-confidence. The song begins with the artist expressing a feeling of power and invincibility, comparing himself to Katozai, likely referencing a fearless and brave character. He also mentions how some people are attracted to him solely because of his wealth, acknowledging that material possessions can sometimes cloud true intentions. Amidst this, he reaches out to someone who seems to be going through a difficult time, assuring them that everything will eventually be alright.
As the song continues, Arab professes a deep love for someone who may have been deceitful, using the phrase "I love you like you lie." He suggests smoking marijuana together and using it as a means to escape reality for a while. The lyrics also mention having a weapon for self-defense, cautioning those who might threaten him. Arab then expresses the pain he feels due to a past emotional experience and pleads for the person he loves to stay with him. He admits that he constantly thinks about this person and they appear in his dreams. The song ends with a desire for acceptance and validation, hoping to make his mother proud and acknowledging that success often attracts hatred.
Overall, "Off My Mind" explores a range of emotions, capturing both the artist's inner struggles and his desire for love and happiness.

Her name is Abbey Smith. She is from West Memphis, Arkansas. Her mom was a science teacher and her dad was a preacher. She grew u in the church. She wrote this song specifically for this performance. This was the first time she had ever performed it in front of a live audience. This was also her "breakout" performance as an artist. There is no studio version of this song because she said that this performance was the epitome of how this song should have been performed and there will never be a better version. She chose her stage name "YEBBA" (yeh-buh) because it was the nickname her mother always called her. Her mom passed away a few weeks after this performance, which solidified her choice to keep her stage name. To say she's an amazing singer is not only an understatement but also distracts from the fact that she's a master storyteller. A genius in full control of her toolkit.

Absolutely heart wrenching. I’ve listened to this song so many times and it still gets to me . She’s a very talented singer. Love your reactions, you don’t even have to say anything , your face speaks volumes. I totally agree with you what pop music is concerned, quality artists like Dimash, Diana Ankudinova etc. get no attention while the recycled pop songs get relentless play on the radio. There’s another artist that is amazing named “Faouzia”. She’s a Moroccan singer who lives in Canada. She has many fantastic songs, maybe start with “ tears of gold” Stripped version ( she’s best singing live). ✌

I know her! she's awesome! I actually know someone that personally knows her so she's like one degree away. My hope is if we get the channel big enough I can start interviewing these awesome artists.

I am so glad that you said that when you asked if she was from your part of the world. From the moment I heard this song and I heard her Lament it sounded and was reminiscent of those wails that I've heard in different types of music from the Middle East, in Egypt and other places. I heard a whisper of Oum Khaltoum. I love this song in the way she sang it because it gives literal voice to the grief of a broken love and broken face. And the lament that she raises is perfectly appropriate for that.

I said the same thing!

citzenesse Very insightful comment! "Lament"---spot on. And very perceptive noting the Middle Eastern musical wailing influence. Kudos. 👍

It's SO much fun seeing people react to Yebba, specifically this song, for the first time. I'm a 58 year old classic rocker, but I've easily watched over 50 reactions to this song. She's got other amazing songs too. Check out, if you haven't already, Evergreen, and October Sky.

I just listened to Yebba last night, she popped up on my list, and I CRIED like a baby...Wow, I have not heard a song touch me like this. She is now added to my favorites list...

You nailed it on the head! Your the first reaction video I’ve come across that actually worded it perfectly. The fact that you understand the interpretation of the song and could intellectually explain her talent speaks volumes about you. You have a new follower ❤ She also did a rendition with Clark Beckham on the song Gravity. Her vocals are stunning! You might want to check it out. 😊

Welcome to the magical world of Yebba (Abbey spelled backwards)! Please react to more of her - Cover of John Mayer's Gravity with Clark Beckham, her original songs Evergreen, October Sky and Boomerang (live version is a must) and her Tiny Desk concert. She has collaborated with Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Mark Ronson, Chance The Rapper, Drake, PJ Morton (They won a Grammy together) etc. All videos, songs and vocal talent are exceptional! It is a crying shame that she is not a household name...
