Andhera
Asha Bhosle Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of the song "Andhera" by Asha Bhosle are filled with deep emotions and metaphors that reflect the complexities of life and relationships. The verses portray a contrast between darkness and light, and the ever-changing nature of existence.

The repetition of the word "Andhera" (darkness) throughout the song suggests a sense of confusion and uncertainty. It symbolizes the unknown aspects of life that we struggle to understand and navigate. The line "Andhera andhera ujale se takra raha hai" can be interpreted as the clash between darkness and light. It signifies the constant battle between opposing forces, where darkness and light encounter each other, trying to overcome one another.

The next lines “Zamana zamana rang badalta ja raha hai" further emphasize the transience of life and the ever-changing nature of the world. The "zamana" or the world keeps evolving and adapting, with colors and experiences continuously shifting. This line suggests that change is inevitable and that we must be prepared to adapt to the transformations happening around us.

Moving to the next stanza, the lyrics delve into the depths of the human heart and its complexities. The phrase "Kisi ke dil me kya hai ye samajh lena nahi aata" reveals the difficulty in understanding what lies within someone's heart. It highlights the fact that we may never fully comprehend the emotions and thoughts of others. The comparison to an ocean and a storm emphasizes the depth and intensity of emotions hidden beneath a calm exterior.

The lines "Mohabbat ki nazar me dushmani ka rang shamil hai, ye sheesha hai toh ye pathar hai magar pehchaan mushkil hai" portray a juxtaposition between love and enmity. It suggests that in the eyes of love, even the colors of animosity can exist. The mention of the mirror and the stone represents the challenges faced in identifying true intentions and deciphering the true nature of a person. It implies that appearances can be deceiving, and it is not easy to discern the true character of individuals.

Overall, "Andhera" is a song that explores the complexities and uncertainties of life and relationships. It reflects on the intertwined nature of light and darkness, the constant change in the world, and the challenges of understanding others' hearts and intentions. Asha Bhosle's mesmerizing voice and the deep lyrics make this song a profound and thought-provoking experience.

jaha tak mahak hai mere gesuo ki, chale aaiye
jaha tak mahak hai mere gesuo ki, chale aaiye

suniye to zara, jo haqikat hai kahte hai ham
khulte rukte, in rangi labo ki qasam
jal uthenge diye juganuo ki tarah
jal uthenge diye juganuo ki tarah
ye tabassum to faramaaiye

tum ho mehmaan, to na thaharegi ye raat kya
raat jaaye rahe, aap dil me mere
raat jaaye rahe, aap dil me mere
jaha tak mahak hai mere gesuo ki, chale aaiye

Wishing you very very Happie 87th birthday on 8th September 2020, dearest Asha tai. 🙏😊

The new generation nowadays has no sense of choices especially in music. Don't they know that Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar, Mohd Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, R D Burman and many other pioneers are eternal and can't be represented or remembered by their nonsense recreations???

All those who haven't listened these once-in-a-lifetime Asha Bhosle's ORIGINAL masterpiece songs, do listen them -
(NO OTHER, I REPEAT, NO OTHER LIVING OR DEAD PERSON IN THE UNIVERSE COULD SING ASHA BHOSLE SONGS AS GOOD AS DEAR ASHA BHOSLE HERSELF !)

1. Ambar Ki Ek Paak Surahi & Chain Se Humko Kabhi
2. Ghar Jaayegi, Bechaara Dil Kya Kare & Sajna Hai Mujhe
3. Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja, Duniya Mein Logon Ko & Dum Maaro Dum
4. Aaj Ki Raat Koi Aane Ko Hai Re Baba & Yeh Mera Dil Yaar Ka Deewana
5. Kar Le Pyaar Karne Ke Din Hain Yahi & Hungama Ho Gaya
6. Nigahein Milaane Ko
7. Aao Na Gale Lagaao Na
8. Yeh Hai Reshmi Zulfo Ka Andhera
9. Deewana Mastaana Hua Dil
10. Shehron Ki Galiyon Mein
11. Bheegi Bheegi Fiza, Kyun Mujhe Itni Khushi De Di, Baag Mein Kali Khili & Raat Akeli Hai
12. Aao Huzoor Tumko Sitaron Mein Le Chalu
13. Aaiye Meherbaan
14. Acchha Ji Mai Haari
15. Chhoti Si Kahaani Se & Katra Katra Milti Hai
16. Jhumka Gira Re
17. Bhavra Bada Naadaan Hai
18. Tora Man Darpan
19. O Mere Sona Re
20. O Haseena Zulfo Waali

Many other Asha Bhosle songs are simply eternal like Chura Liya Hai Tumne, Pehle Pehle Pyaar Ki Mulaakaatein Yaad Hain, Aapke Kamre Mein Koi Rehta Hai, Aa Dekhen Zara, Ek Hasina Thi Ek Deewana Tha, all Parichay songs, Jawaani Deewani songs, Khushboo songs, Khoobsurat songs, Umraao Jaan songs, all Asha Bhosle peppy cheerful songs and cabaret songs, ghazals and many more.

Many more Asha Bhosle touch songs can be listed but I'd like to stop here.
(Note that the songs are not ranked from 1 to 20 as every song is so priceless that ranking them is just impossible.)

There are such innumerable songs of Lata Mangeshkar and Mohd Rafi that I won't stop if I start listing those.

My favorite Kishore Kumar song (if I were to select only one) will be Roop Tera Mastaana. 'God' Kishore Kumar has literally poured in every atom of his heart, body and soul into that song to make it the all-time best song in history.

All dear YouTube viewers and friends, do listen to all above songs and reply the opinion on the same.

Do enjoy the above songs and fall in love with the miracle named Asha Bhosle.

🙏🙏🙏😄😄😊😊👍

Definitely agree. Dearest Asha Bhosle wasn't born during sanyasi times, otherwise there wouldn't have been any sanyasi age till date !!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Basically it's the truth that -

Best voice for ultimate sweetness and hardcore classical genre - Mohd Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar

and

Best voice for intense emotions and equally sweet and divine singing coupled with classical flavour - Of course, Asha Bhosle and Kishore Kumar.

Everything seems to be so perfect ..
Truly sensuous but retained beauty.

Exactly so.
For a similar experience, suggest watch Tanuja in Jewel Thief dancing to RAAT AKELI HAI, BOOJH GAYE DIYE ...

What a sparkling beauty! The composition that is. No disrespect to the talented Mumtaz here. Even after half a century, the melody enthralls, seduces and makes one long for more of such kind. OP Nayyar saved his best for Asha Bhosle's vocal stylings. And Asha tai, what can one say? Her rich, velvet voice here is pure class and beauty. She's unparalleled in this genre of music and singing.

The best part, in addition to OP Nayyar's rich music, is the wonderful percussion. Observe the loaded pauses in the drums and then the resurrection. Epic!!! OP would have given a run to today's composers with his innovations and masterful creativity.

@Invincible.Indian21
