Their most outstanding feature has been that all the songs performed by BAP are in Kölsch, the local ripoarian language (or German dialect) spoken in Cologne and its vicinity, which is hardly understood in other parts of Germany. BAP had their greatest successes in the 1980s, when they stormed the national charts with a number of subsequent singles. Their all-time number one is "Verdamp lang her".
During the peace movement in the 80s they played concerts on demonstrations and were dedicated to the disarmament in Germany and Europe.
2) BAP!! (Brigada Anti Polizialak) is an influential Basque Hardcore fusion band. Formed in 1984 and disbanded in 1996, they only released 3 albums partly because the drummer joined Negu Gorriak but achieved the cult band status thanks to their open minded fusion of styles and powerful live performances. Later 3 of the members formed Inoren Ero Ni.

BAP Lyrics

The lyrics of BAP's "Unger Krahnebäume" depict a nostalgic journey through various places and memories in Cologne, Germany. The song opens with a list of different areas in the city, such as Rään, Sonnesching, and Harel, before moving on to describe the singer's sense of missing out on experiences that he used to have. The lyrics then mention different establishments and landmarks, including a sunbed and a doner kebab stand, as well as the Chargeheimer photos, which are described as being both insignificant yet still significant.
The chorus of the song revolves around the line "Hä stund 'Unger Krahnebäume'", which translates to "He stood under the crane trees". The singer reminisces about standing in a particular place in Cologne and dreaming about what the future may hold. The lyrics continue to focus on various symbols of the city, such as the jroone well ("green wave") on the Nord-Südfahrt (a major road in the city), and how they are all intertwined with the idea of fate, which is constantly being lost and found.
Overall, "Unger Krahnebäume" portrays the city of Cologne as a place with a rich, complex history, filled with both significant and insignificant moments that all come together to create a sense of longing and nostalgia for the past.
