Throughout their 10 years of activities the band experimented with a variety of different styles, such as rockabilly and surf-rock. Their lyrics–most of which were written by Asai–touched upon serious matters such as broken families and animal mistreatment, but also imaginative creatures and individuals made up in Asai’s mind. The band’s lineup remained consistent until breaking up in 2000. After the disbandment, Asai Kenichi created his own label, Sexy Stones Records, and founded the bands SHERBETS, JUDE and AJICO. Drummer Nakamura Tatsuya went on to concentrate on his LOSALIOS project, while bassist Terui Toshiyuki recorded material in bands such as ROSSO and RAVEN. In later years, he has also played bass on some of Asai Kenichi’s solo project releases.

The lyrics of BLANKEY JET CITY's song, "Kanjou (感情)" convey the message that emotions are not solely comprised of sadness, even though sadness may be a part of emotions. The lyrics repeat the phrase "Kanjou ga atte (感情があって)," which means "there are emotions," and emphasizes that it is a natural part of life to feel emotions. The lyrics stress that crying is not necessarily an intrinsic quality of feeling sad, and that one should not feel obliged to cry just because they are sad. The chorus repeats “Hazu wa nai (はずはない),” meaning “it cannot be” or “it should not be,” to convey the idea that people should not take their emotions for granted and cry just because that is what is expected when feeling sad.
The song is an encouragement to people to acknowledge their emotions and embrace them for what they are. The song encourages people to accept their sadness rather than trying to suppress it, and it emphasizes that feeling sad is a natural part of human emotions. The song lyrics also convey that people should not force themselves to cry just because they feel sad, hence the line "namida ga nagareru hazu wa nai (涙が流れるはずはない)," meaning "tears should not flow." Overall, the lyrics suggest that emotions should be accepted and embraced because they make people human, and that crying is not necessarily a reaction whenever someone is sad.
