Throughout their 10 years of activities the band experimented with a variety of different styles, such as rockabilly and surf-rock. Their lyrics–most of which were written by Asai–touched upon serious matters such as broken families and animal mistreatment, but also imaginative creatures and individuals made up in Asai’s mind. The band’s lineup remained consistent until breaking up in 2000. After the disbandment, Asai Kenichi created his own label, Sexy Stones Records, and founded the bands SHERBETS, JUDE and AJICO. Drummer Nakamura Tatsuya went on to concentrate on his LOSALIOS project, while bassist Terui Toshiyuki recorded material in bands such as ROSSO and RAVEN. In later years, he has also played bass on some of Asai Kenichi’s solo project releases.

MICKEY DUCK
BLANKEY JET CITY Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Haaah...
オレのアヒルを殺さないで
もうこれ以上...
The lyrics of BLANKEY JET CITY's song "Mickey Duck" tell the story of someone pleading for the life of their beloved duck. In the first verse, the singer asks to spare their duck's life, repeating the phrase "Don't kill my duck anymore." They describe their duck as both cute and ugly, showing that the singer has a deep emotional connection with their pet regardless of its appearance. The second verse takes a dark turn, introducing the concept of a bloody hammer and the singer's unwavering love for the person who wields it. Despite the violence hinted at in the lyrics, the focus remains on the singer's plea to spare their duck's life.
The meaning behind "Mickey Duck" is open to interpretation, but some fans believe it may be a commentary on the brutality of life and the senselessness of violence against the innocent. The image of the duck serves as a symbol of vulnerability and something to protect, while the hammer represents a callous disregard for life. The repeating theme of "don't kill anymore" reinforces this message and suggests that the singer has experienced this kind of senseless violence before. The song's dark tone and gruesome imagery create a compelling and thought-provoking narrative that stays with the listener long after the song ends.
