Throughout their 10 years of activities the band experimented with a variety of different styles, such as rockabilly and surf-rock. Their lyrics–most of which were written by Asai–touched upon serious matters such as broken families and animal mistreatment, but also imaginative creatures and individuals made up in Asai’s mind. The band’s lineup remained consistent until breaking up in 2000. After the disbandment, Asai Kenichi created his own label, Sexy Stones Records, and founded the bands SHERBETS, JUDE and AJICO. Drummer Nakamura Tatsuya went on to concentrate on his LOSALIOS project, while bassist Terui Toshiyuki recorded material in bands such as ROSSO and RAVEN. In later years, he has also played bass on some of Asai Kenichi’s solo project releases.

皆殺しのトランペット
BLANKEY JET CITY Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics to Blankey Jet City's song 皆殺しのトランペット, which translates to "Trumpet of Massacre," is a melancholic contemplation of life's meaning, with the singer asserting that life isn't boring but expressing a desire for a peaceful, reflective moment at a seaside restaurant. The repetition of the same verse emphasizes the singer's longing for a simpler life, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The reference to memories of kissing in a concrete park and the remnants of fireworks at their feet further highlight the significance of those small moments in life.
The choruses express a sense of freedom and wonder, as the singer marvels at the beautiful blue sky and the endless possibilities it represents. The song's title, "Trumpet of Massacre," suggests a darker, more violent connotation, but the lyrics themselves don't seem to directly reference any such event. Instead, they seem to focus on the fleeting nature of life's moments and the importance of cherishing them while they last.
Overall, the lyrics to Blankey Jet City's "皆殺しのトランペット" offer a poignant reflection on life's meaning, urging listeners to appreciate the small moments of joy and freedom amidst the chaos of modern life.
