After 2 albums of underground transgressive rock, the band started mixing it with Latin American rhythms such a cumbia, chacarera, candombe and cuartetazo. The lyrics, though, remained acid and critical of political and social problems.
The current line-up is: Gustavo Cordera (voice), Juan Subirá (keyboards and voice), Carlos Martín (drums), Oscar Righi (guitar), "Pepe" Céspedes (bass guitar and voice), Daniel Suárez (voice), Alberto Verenzuela (guitar), and "Cóndor" Sbarbatti (voice and charango); previous members include Charly Bianco (guitar and voice) and Rubén Sadrinas (voice).
Honoring the psychiatric hospital José Tiburcio Borda in Buenos Aires, La Bersuit performs dressed in characteristic pajamas; even though the story of Cordera spending some time in that institution is a mere urban legend, the band has an affinity with everything related to madness and marginalization.
Besides the big success, first in the Buenos Aires' underground movement and then in all the country, Bersuit Vergarabat harvested fans from many countries in South America as well as in Spain.

Desde el año dos mil hemos tenido gobiernos cuyos mandatarios han mantenido y acrecentado el Estado contratando empleados, estatizando empresas, adhiriendo más y más poder y haciendo abuso de éste, invirtiendo su rol, de manera que dejo de ser un Estado al servicio del Pueblo y tuvimos un Estado que se se sirvió del Pueblo, agrandando su injerencia en la vida y costumbres de los ciudadanos argentinos.
Acostumbrados todos porque no había otra alternativa, a un Estado enorme, burocrático, bueno sólo de los amigos del poder, pesado, gigante y descontrolado, con un hambre feroz , que gastaba sin control y sin criterio.
Hoy habiendo pasado poco más de 4 meses, tenemos un Estado conducido por un equipo, que se presentó primero sin corbata y ahora dejó el traje en el armario y se puso un jogging, está mucho más liviano, ágil y eligió una dieta sana, para ponerlo en forma.
El despido de 10000 empleados del Estado es como si una persona obesa se saca de encima 50 kilos, por eso digo que se puso el jogging y comenzó una dieta en donde controla el gasto , administra mejor los ingresos, planifica su dieta y se propuso objetivos.
Quiero decir que lo que hizo el presidente MACRI no es ajuste sino que nos está haciendo hacer ejercicio, nos sacó del sendentarismo popular y nacional , que nos mantuvo cómodos 12 años, que todo lo resolvía con subsidios y nos alentó a movernos, ahora con 10000 personas menos, el Estado funciona mejor, hay 10000 menos sellos o personas que intervienen en una tramitación en el Estado.
El Estado se puso el jogging y comienza a perder peso, comienza a ser más ágil, ahora nos representa una figura que siempre cuido su cuerpo, siempre estuvo en forma, siempre comió sano, siempre hizo ejercicio y eso es lo que está aplicando a su gobierno, su estilo de vida, su conducta y su disciplina.
Macri esta colocando su impronta, así como el se cuida a si mismo, está cuidando el Estado, muy pronto tendremos un Estado delgado ágil y presentable en el mundo, creíble y capáz de competir en cualquier maratón.
