After 2 albums of underground transgressive rock, the band started mixing it with Latin American rhythms such a cumbia, chacarera, candombe and cuartetazo. The lyrics, though, remained acid and critical of political and social problems.
The current line-up is: Gustavo Cordera (voice), Juan Subirá (keyboards and voice), Carlos Martín (drums), Oscar Righi (guitar), "Pepe" Céspedes (bass guitar and voice), Daniel Suárez (voice), Alberto Verenzuela (guitar), and "Cóndor" Sbarbatti (voice and charango); previous members include Charly Bianco (guitar and voice) and Rubén Sadrinas (voice).
Honoring the psychiatric hospital José Tiburcio Borda in Buenos Aires, La Bersuit performs dressed in characteristic pajamas; even though the story of Cordera spending some time in that institution is a mere urban legend, the band has an affinity with everything related to madness and marginalization.
Besides the big success, first in the Buenos Aires' underground movement and then in all the country, Bersuit Vergarabat harvested fans from many countries in South America as well as in Spain.

The lyrics of Bersuit Vergarabat's song "Diez Mil" describe a man who is corrupted by his greed for money, leading him down a dark path of immoral and illegal activities. The song begins with a list of numbers, representing large sums of money the man has accumulated: 14,504; 10,000; 8,022; 10,000; 9,520; 10,000; 70,093; 10,000; and 114. The repetition of "Diez Mil" (Ten Thousand) throughout the song emphasizes the importance of this amount of money to the man's character.
The lyrics then delve into the disturbing actions the man has taken to obtain this wealth, including buying and selling organs, paying with drugs, and selling the blood of his grandmother. He justifies his actions by claiming that he is doing it all for his loved ones, stating that he is a "macanudo," a patriot, and a protector. The song ends with him listing off extravagant purchases that he is now able to make with his vast wealth.
Overall, the song serves as a commentary on the corrupting power of money and the lengths some people will go to obtain it. It highlights the dangerous consequences of unchecked greed and the destructive impact it can have on individuals and society as a whole.
