Darin was a very special and talented entertainer. He was a Grammy award winning singer ('Mack The Knife'), a respected member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ('Dream Lover', 'Splish Splash', 'If I Were A Carpenter') a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, a successful record producer, an Oscar nominated actor and a strong supporter of the American Heart Association. Bobby was married to actress Sandra Dee from 1960-1967. They had one son, Dodd, born in December 1961. As a result of complications from a rheumatic heart, Bobby's life was tragically cut short in 1973.
Darin's mother, Vanina Cassotto, had given birth to him when she was 16, and as a result, her parents raised Darin as though he were their son while Vanina was presented off as his elder sister. Darin did not learn the truth about his parentage until he was 32.

There ain't nobody can ever take your place
You baby face, my poor hearts jumping
You started something
Baby face, well, I'm in heaven
When I'm in your, your fond embrace
Yeah, I never need no shove
Pretty, pretty, baby face, let's twist awhile
Baby face, you know you got the cutest baby face
They'll never be nobody to take your place
You baby face, you got my two knees knocking
You ain't the girl with a hole in your stocking
But you're a baby face, I'm in heaven
When I'm in your fond embrace
Yeah, I never need no shove
'Cuz I just fell in love with your
Pretty, pretty, baby face
It's important to note that the lyrics provided here are not the lyrics to Bobby Darin's song "We Didn't Ask To Be Brought Here", but instead are the lyrics to a different song, "Baby Face". That being said, let's discuss the meaning behind these lyrics.
Firstly, the lyrics are about a person with a cute and attractive face, referred to as "baby face". The singer expresses their love for this person and their fond embrace. The line "you started something" implies that the pair have some kind of romantic or sexual relationship, and the line "let's twist awhile" suggests they may be dancing together.
The repetition of "you baby face" throughout the song reinforces the singer's infatuation with this person, and the line "you ain't the girl with a hole in your stocking" suggests that the singer admires the person for more than just their physical appearance.
Overall, the lyrics are cheerful and flirtatious, celebrating the attractiveness and charm of a particular person.

Thanks for uploading this gem by Bobby Darin, it is totally sensational.....
I came here after looking at something else and it's such an what a sensational surprise, brilliant singer / entertainer....
I have loved Bobby Darin and his music since I was a four year old back win the mid 1950's, such a sensational entertainer....
Bobby had this wonderfully rich warm mature vocals that just hit deep within ones heart and soul that holds you for life...
Bobby always, always gave 1,000 percent perfection each and every time he opened his mouth to sing / entertain and never once disappointed his adoring fans, he was the real deal, the total exception to the rule, he was Mr. Perfection in my eyes....
I know that Glen Campbell was a session musian before he hit the big time for himself and he may be playing here, to me sounds like Glen, but may wrong.... Would be nice to know for sure if someone out there could confirm one way or the other.
