Feel good
I ain't gonna lie to you
I don't know about you
In a prison or a hospital
Yeah, when I buy shit
My ting dem costly
I remember when I used to hustle in the flats
And the neighbours then had no love for me
Switch it up, now everything blessed
Hit the stage with the gyallies say yeah, yeah, yeah yeah
When them rise up against me
Me looking at them eyes and say, hey!

Destiny, can't touch my destiny
Dem ah try everything
Dem ah try take me life
But I won't let them get the best of me (best of me)
Destiny, can't touch my destiny
They can take everything I have
They can take my life

Overall Meaning

In Burna Boy's "Destiny," the artist asserts his power over his own life and the direction it will take. The song begins with Burna Boy feeling good, but acknowledging that he doesn't know how good the listener feels. He then contrasts his current success with a time in the past when he used to hustle in the flats and his neighbors didn't show him any love. Burna Boy has since "switched it up" and now everything is blessed, which is evident when he hits the stage with the gyallies. Even when others rise up against him, Burna Boy stares them down with confidence.

In the chorus, Burna Boy sings that his destiny is untouchable, no matter what his enemies try to take away from him. They can try to take his life or everything he has, but they can't touch his destiny. The bridge of the song has a more aggressive tone, as Burna Boy asserts that he is a Gaza thug and warns others against starting trouble with him. He highlights the difficult path he has taken to reach success, hustling in the face of starvation and ducking authorities, and takes pride in how far he has come.

Overall, "Destiny" is a song of triumph and refusing to be defeated by external circumstances. Burna Boy's confident delivery and celebration of his success make the song a catchy anthem for anyone who has overcome adversity to achieve their goals.

I remember how this song carried me through dark times last year while my Moms was suffering from liver infections. Going to that awful hospital to bring her food to her... I was so shaken man. I could not take it, the blood, the suffering sick people, the aged.. I had never seen anything like that in my life. But I kept the volume high and Destiny on repeat. It got me through it all... And when my Mom died that Sunday morning, I knew I could get through it all because no one can touch my destiny. Shout out to all the young orphans out there trying to make a living. No one can touch your destiny man, no one! God bless.
