In 2005, Camille released Le fil. This is a concept album, built on one note (a B) that starts at the beginning of the album and stops at its end. All the songs of the album are constructed on the voice of Camille with only one instrument (double-bass, and sometimes a keyboard).
Camille's third studio album Music Hole, released in March 2008, shows a key turn in her career: it is mostly sung in English.

Cheveux mouillés
Bras repliés
Retrouvée fenêtre ouverte
L'air
Par la fenêtre
Pour que l'amour me quitte
En dormant j'ai rêvé
Des milles lianes
Pagayé,
Pagayé
Pour que l'amour me quitte
Réveillée
La lumière pâle
Des murs de l'hôpital
Trop aimer c'est pas normal
Un cœur si mal
Accroché,
Décroché
Pour que l'amour me quitte
Amour
The lyrics of Camille's song Pour Que L'amour Me Quitte describe a person who is in love and is struggling to let go of the intense emotions that come with it. The first verse paints a picture of someone who has been found in a vulnerable state, with wet hair and folded arms, having possibly just woken up. The presence of an open window and the sense of air entering the room give a sense of fragility and vulnerability.
The chorus, "Pour que l'amour me quitte," which translates to "so that love would leave me," is repeated throughout the song and reflects the singer's desire to let go of this overwhelming feeling. The next verse describes a dream that the person had, in which they were paddling through vines, possibly symbolizing the effort required to move through a relationship that has become tangled and difficult.
The final verse describes the person waking up in a hospital, feeling the pain of a heart that is "accroché" (attached) and "décroché" (dislodged). This suggests that the intensity of the love has taken a physical toll on the person, leading them to question whether loving someone so much can ever really be normal.
Overall, the lyrics suggest a struggle to reconcile the intensity of love with the need to let go and move on. The dream sequence and hospital imagery provide a sense of disorientation and confusion, perhaps reflecting the emotional turbulence that can come with a difficult breakup.

I keep forgetting this song and I keep asking my ex-roommate who played it first in my life. We talk a bit then, every few months. Such a beautiful song. And the mystery is although we both were together in the french class, I dont even understand it. She does. Thanks Pra.
