'Cause in the story of our lives,
The best of times took on a glance.
And if you should call, it's no trouble
No trouble at all
I'll paint out the sun
Back where we begun again
The lyrics to Capsule's song "I was Wrong" delves deep into regret and remorse. The opening line encapsulates the theme of the song, which is the admission of making a mistake. The singer expresses regret for not wanting to change anything in the past. However, the best times in their life have taken on a new meaning, and the singer wishes they can relive those moments again.
Furthermore, the song seems like a conversation between two people, where the singer is responding to the other person. When the other person calls, the singer states that it's no trouble, and they are willing to make amends. The following line, "I'll paint out the sun" could mean the singer is willing to dim their bright future or turn back the clock to the beginning of the relationship.
In conclusion, Capsule's "I was Wrong" is a compelling and emotional song that portrays remorse, regret, and the willingness to make amends. The lyrics are relatable and poignant, and the music beautifully complements it, leaving a lasting impact on the listeners.
