Flying Home
Chantal Kreviazuk Lyrics

You've always let me in
And helped with all the endings
And you know where to begin
I need you here for me
Cause you always know my heart
I can't believe we'd change
[Chorus]
But if you've seen the love that's in her eyes
Then everything is good
And if you know the way she felt inside
She's flying where she should
I never believed we'd ever live to see
An angel being born and flyin' home
Its good to know your laugh
And you'll always hold my hand
And watch from up in heaven
And always understand
We'll take you down the road
And in everything we do
We'll know how much you love us
A soul that's kind and true.
[Chorus]
The lyrics to Chantal Kreviazuk's song Flying Home express the difficulty of accepting that someone close to us has passed away, but finding comfort in the belief that they are now in a better place. The singer is struggling to come to terms with the loss of someone who has always been there for her, helping her through difficult periods in her life. She acknowledges that she needs this person in her life, as they know her heart better than anyone else. She finds it hard to believe that their relationship will change or that they will be apart.
The chorus of the song shifts the perspective to a more positive one. The singer refers to the "love that's in her eyes" and "the way she felt inside," suggesting that the person who has passed away is now at peace, "flying where she should." The singer believes that they are now an angel who has been born and gone "home." This shift in perspective from mourning to accepting the person's passing as a transition into a new phase of life can help the singer find solace in the knowledge that their loved one is now in a better place.
Overall, the lyrics to Chantal Kreviazuk's Flying Home are powerful in their ability to express the conflicting emotions of mourning the loss of a loved one while finding comfort in the idea that they are now free from suffering and at peace.
