Kreviazuk's Time was played in the credits of the movie, Uptown Girls, and featured in an episode of the MTV reality show, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. In 2005 two new songs written and performed by Kreviazuk were also featured on the soundtrack of the movie The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants.

God Made Me
Chantal Kreviazuk Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And you're beautiful
I'm deluded
And I'm envious of you
You're carin'
That I'm hurtin'
But I'm laughing
'Cause I'm lyin'
This is the way God made me
No self-reliance
No social skills
You're confident
And you express yourself so well
You're learned
Degrees upon your wall
I'm jealous
No invitations to the ball
This is the way God made me
This is the way God made me
No self esteem
You're picture perfect
You walk about so contented
The trees call out your name
You're clean
And I'm so ignorant
I'm basic
And I'm jaded
My excuses are so lame
This is the way God made me
This is the way God made me
This is just the way I'm meant to be, yeah
This is the way God made me
Oh, there's no excuse, it's just the way God made me
This is the way God made me
It's just the way I am, it's just the way I am
It's just the way I am
In this song, Chantal Kreviazuk discusses her insecurities and jealousy towards someone who has it all - beauty, confidence, social skills, education, and self-esteem. The lyrics reveal that Chantal struggles with feeling inferior and inadequate, which drives her to lie about it and pretend that everything is fine. She acknowledges that this is the way God made her and there's no excuse for it. She ends the song by accepting herself and embracing her flaws, emphasizing that it's just the way she is.
The song can be interpreted as a powerful statement of self-acceptance, and a reminder that it's okay to be different and imperfect. It highlights the importance of self-love and being true to oneself, even when surrounded by people who seem to have it all together. One interesting aspect of the song is how it juxtaposes Chantal's insecurities with the other person's strengths, emphasizing the contrast between the two and how it makes Chantal feel. The line "the trees call out your name" is a beautiful metaphor for how the other person seems to be in perfect harmony with the natural world, while Chantal feels out of place.
Another interesting fact is that this song was released in 2006 as part of Chantal's album "Ghost Stories". It was released as a single and received positive reviews from critics who praised Chantal's vocals and the song's relatable lyrics. It's often considered one of the standout tracks on the album.
The chords for "God Made Me" are as follows:

I was a junior in high school when this came out. 89X in Windsor, On. was a favorite station of mine and played this often so they could fulfill their "cancon" requirements. Hearing this at 6:30 on a cold, fall morning while pulling my '87 Honda into the lot of my suburban Detroit high school is forever etched in my mind. Some things are gone forever. But music stays with you and never lets you forget your youth.

I know this song from 89X as well! Would listen to this on the walkman radio while walking home from school, grade. Feel lucky to have been exposed to 90's Canadian artists from 89X.
