He has sold more than 1 million copies of his first solo album, "Mon Paradis", released in 2007.
Born October 16, 1975 in Carpentras, he learned to play the violin at age 6. He began playing the guitar and harmonica at age 16 after he was immoblised from a chronic illness. He was very sick back then, and as a result of that, he had to be in bed 24/7. To please himself he started singing. This is when he discovered his inspiration: Stevie Wonder.
When he got better, he was struggling to gain fame. He performed in bars, restaurants and as opening act for artists like Cher, Seal and Jonathan Cerrada.
During the opening act for Jonathan Cerrada Cristophe got noticed by Dove Attia, who asked him if he would do a casting for the musical Le Roi soleil. He got the part.
France’s most pupular radio station named Christophe “revolution of the year”, and in March 07 he released his first soloalbum (mon paradis). Over 1 million copies were sold.
His musical influences are Bob Marley, Ben Harper, Tracy Chapman, and Jack Johnson.

In this mournful ballad by Christophe Maé, the singer reflects on a lost love, confessing that he once lived for love but no longer has anyone special in his life. He listens to his pain and finds the silence heavy, feeling that the seconds pass like hours. He imagines what his former love is doing, saying, and thinking with someone else, and he can almost feel what she is experiencing as he is absent from her life. He laments that the flowers in the garden of their former love are now dead, her scent still lingers on his pillow, and he left the shutters closed all summer to avoid seeing the sun rise. He remembers their declarations of eternal love, which now fade away slowly. At night, he hears her voice and sees her body, but he knows she will not be coming back. He concludes by saying that he has left their love behind and no longer believes in fairy tales.
The song is a poignant reflection on the end of a romantic relationship, with themes of pain, longing, loss, and regret. The lyrics convey the sadness of the singer as he reflects on the time when he had someone special in his life and how their love has now faded away. The repeated refrain of 'J'ai laissé' ('I left') highlights the singer's feelings of guilt and regret, implying that he had some responsibility in the loss of their love. The use of sensory imagery, such as the scent of his love on the pillow and the flowers in the garden, adds an emotional depth to the lyrics, making the loss of their love all the more palpable.

"I'll admit, it doesn't feel good.
I lived on love, and now i've lost my soul.
I listen to my pain, the silence is heavy, the seconds are hours.
I imagine what you say,
What you do,
What you think.
I imagine that you're living by his side while i'm gone.
I've left the flowers of the garden to wither
I've left your smell on the pillow
I've left the blinds closed all of the summer, because i can't stand to see another day"

For those who don't understand the song here :
I confess, I'm not happy
I was living on love
Today I don't have my soul mate anymore
I'm listening to my pain
And silence is heavy
Seconds are hours
And I imagine what you say, what you do, what you think
And I guess what you live at his side, in my absence
I have left
The flowers of the garden wither
I have left
Your scent on the pillow
I have left
The shutters closed all summer
Not to see the breaking dawn anymore
I confess, I'm not happy
I was dreaming of love
Today I no longer feel like dreaming
I confess and touch lightly
Our I love you forever
That are slowly dying
I imagine what he tells you, what does to you, what he thinks
And I guess what you live at his side, in my absence
I have left
The flowers of the garden wither
I have left
Your scent on the pillow
I have left
The shutters closed all summer
Not to see the breaking dawn anymore
And at night I hear your voice
And I see your body
But at night I hear in your voice
That you won't come back
I have left
The flowers of the garden wither
I have left
Your scent on the pillow
I have left
The shutters closed all summer
Not to see the breaking dawn anymore
I have left (x4)
I have left the flowers of the garden wither
I have left (x4)
Your scent on the pillow
I have left (x4)
I have left the shutters closed
I have left (x4)
I have left the flowers of the garden wither
I have left
The flowers of the garden wither
I have left
Your scent on the pillow
I have left
The shutters closed all summer
Not to see the breaking dawn anymore
Not to believe in fairytales anymore..
