In 1996, the band played the very first Ozzfest. In 1997, their first album Coal Chamber was released; it produced one single and a video, "Loco" (the video was also added after the end credits of Dee Snider's horror film Strangeland, the soundtrack for which the band also recorded an exclusive song).
Their second album Chamber Music followed in 1999. Between the releases, Foss married Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose and became pregnant, necessitating another bass player on tour, a role filled by Nadja Peulen. Foss came back for the recording of Coal Chamber's third album, Dark Days (2002), but left after the studio sessions to raise her daughter. The band's only single and video was the song "Fiend."
Their 4th album Rivals released on May 19th, 2015. The singles on it were I.O.U Nothing and Rivals. It stepped away from the gothic elements from the last 2 albums and was described as groove/nu metal. They disbanded a year after the album was released.
They reunited in 2022, and so far no hints of new music will be released.

Deliverance now my only friend
I've crawled through the flesh and back again
For us, to be
Near consequence without nothing much
Sheer prayers, it's all been just good luck
Couldn't make it but thanks for showing up again,
I'm saving all my sheep for sin
To be cut deep inside of my own skin
I'm saving all my sheep for sin
Believe in the blisters once again
Deliverance now my only friend
I've crawled through the flesh and back again
For us, to be
Near consequence without nothing much
Sheer prayers, it's all been just good luck
'Cuts deep inside of my own skin
I'm saving all my sheep for sin
Cuts deep inside of my own skin
I'm saving all my sheep for
I don't want one percent of nothing
'Cause I'm never coming back again
Believe in blisters
Believe int the blisters
Cuts deep inside of my own skin
I'm saving all my sheep for sin
Cuts deep inside of my own skin
I'm saving all my sheep for sin
I don't want one percent of nothing
'Cause I'm never coming back again
Believe in blisters
Believe in the blisters
Said your motion, it feels like a knife
I don't want one percent of nothing
'Cause I'm never coming back again
Believe in blisters
Believe in the blisters
The song "Blisters" by Coal Chamber is a dark and introspective piece that explores the themes of pain, perseverance and redemption. The opening line "Believe in the blisters once again" immediately sets the tone for the rest of the song, highlighting the idea that the scars and wounds of one's past experiences can be a source of strength and resilience. The second line "Deliverance now my only friend" suggests that the singer has been through a lot of hardship and has come to rely on their own inner strength to overcome it.
The next lines "I've crawled through the flesh and back again/For us, to be" imply that the singer has gone through a transformative experience to become a better person for the sake of a loved one, with the phrase "us, to be" suggesting that this person is important to them. The song then moves on to talk about how the singer has faced many obstacles and struggles, but has managed to get through them with sheer luck and perseverance.
The lines "I'm saving all my sheep for sin" and "Said your motion, it feels like a knife" add to the sense of darkness and pain in the song, with the former implying that the singer is holding onto their sins as a way of coping and the latter suggesting that their emotions are so intense that they feel physical. Overall, "Blisters" is a powerful and moving song that deals with difficult themes in a raw and honest way.
